  • Supposed "anthropomorphism"

[Read the article: An Olympic disgrace]

To the person who said, "I think it's more accurate to say "as anyone who has anthropomorphized a dog or cat believes." Dogs may feel "joy" at dinnertime, but I think it's a stretch (or delusional thinking) to believe dogs or cats are "full of consiousness and joy."

Please do not be so crass and ignorant. New research is being done and proves that animals are much more than what has been thought for years. Case in point: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2008/03/animal-minds/virginia-morell-text

It is people who think like the person I replied to who justify cruelty to animals because, "after all, they're just animals, they can't think or have emotions". Basically, new research is showing that the old beliefs of "anthropomorphism" were just excuses so that industry (cosmetics, I'm looking at you) could go on doing their sometimes horrific experiments to animals.

And yes, I registered just to reply to this buffoon.

  • I think this is a calling...

I haven't read the other letters, but I will go back and do that. I wouldn't be surprised if there are many others who feel the same way I do.

LW, I think this is your time to learn so that you can make things better. Perhaps you don't believe that you have the power to do that, but I believe that we are all put into uncomfortable situations for a reason.

Maybe you are the person who will institute farm animal care reform?

  • Parasites

[Read the article: My migraines make me feel like driving a pickax through my face!]

LW, it's up to you whether you believe it or not, because modern medicine sure doesn't, but a lot of symptoms can be caused by parasites. I can only speak for myself, and I don't expect anyone in the mainstream to believe me, but I have to put it out there just incase someone wants to experiment in order to feel better. No, it's not just Third World Countries that get them. Do you have pets? If so, it's pretty much a sure bet that you have parasites.

I have had severe sinus headaches and severe neck/back muscle pain for over 20 years, and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago. Two months ago I found the www.humaworm.com website and followed the directions for the month-long cleanse and the liver flush afterwards. I am also now using a neti pot with an herbal rinse to keep the sinus passages clear. I haven't had a headache or neckache since. And yes, I passed a bunch of worms. And no, I am not dirty, I am not a minority, I have not travelled out of the country. I am a college-educated person who keeps a very clean house.

What have you got to lose, really? Certainly the healing herbs are inexpensive enough. That was my viewpoint, and I am glad that I took it.

  • Talking about God always throws them off balance
