Let it never be said there are no Christian Terrorists

I was in Buffalo, visiting family, the night Dr. Slepian was murdered. He was shot mere blocks from where I was that night. Just down the street is a Catholic Church. I wondered if the terrorist was being hidden by one of the families who went to that church.

Next time you hear someone talking about terrorists, remember they don't all have dark skin and read the Koran. Some are pasty white like me, pray to an ever loving Jesus, and would gladly murder your spouse in front of your children.

Original article: Roe for men?

Did anyone read Cathy Youngs original article?

I would really like to know how a 12 year old can be held financially responsible for something that was raped out of him... Oh wait, he's capable of producing sperm so he's liable. Is that not as wrong as the state forcing a 12 year old girl to carry to term because she is capable of producing fertile eggs?

What about the man who was raped after he passed out from drinking - and it is rape since a drunk person CANNOT give consent. Isn't it wrong to force a person to be financially responsible for something that was raped out of them when they were unconscious and defenseless?

Women, you do not want rape victims to have to answer to their attackers for what happens biologicly as a result of that attack. It is obviously wrong.

Just caught Tucker Carlson - Colbert #2 on his "Threatdown"

Tucker Carlson pointed out how he is normally a fan of Colbert's humor, but he found the performance lacking. I wonder if he wanted to poke Colbert with a stick and say "we brought you here to be funny, be funny". Colbert was obviously not the performing monkey he wanted to see.

I'm still trying to decide what was funnier, Colbert's performance or the press and prez audience not laughing. It was like someone let a big loud stinky fart in church - the sound and smell are obnoxious... but the silence of people trying to ignore it is hilarious!

Original article: The 9/11 deniers

Don't believe 19 people could pull it off?

More than a few people have said that it is impossible to believe that 19 people (well, a few more if you include handlers, organizers, and planners) pulled off a 4 airplane hijacking/suicide bombing attack. They find it inconceivable that that could have been pulled off.

Personally, I think they could have been much more destructive, killing tens of thousands and causing billions in damage. Try this one on for size:

Instead of learning how to fly, those 19 spent their time learning how to use construction equipment - backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, trenchers, etc. They spend time in civil engineering schools. Then, on the morning of September 10th 2001, they fly to New Orleans. That afternoon they spend the day renting equipment and moving it to a few specific sites... like the canals. That evening, they get to work. By early morning, say 2AM, they breach the levies in multiple locations. Water flow quickly widens the breaches.

Everyone knew Katrina was coming, everyone knew something bad was going to happen. But if the terrorists had stricken this way they would have caught 500,000 people asleep in their beds - with no one prepared or evacuated.

Actually, you could pull this same attack off today... just in California this time. The levies holding back the water over Stockton and the surrounding area make the New Orleans levies look like the Hoover Dam.

How hard would it be for you to travel to California, right now, and rent a bulldozer for 24 hours? That's how hard it would be for you to kill thousands of people.

Original article: "Jackass Number Two"

Who is the joke for? ME!

...ever call an ambulance for a bleeding man?

'cause those wacky boys on JACKASS had a guy covered in fake blood screaming down a busy street. For the amusement of who? That's beyond a private joke, right?

Probably the best one I saw (and I only saw a few) was the one where they bolted a bucket type car seat to the roof of the car (with lifelike doll and baby blanket), then drove around with the camera on peoples expressions when they saw this drive by. Nothing funnier than watching a man or woman drop everything and bolt after that car... and nothing sadder than the people who just watched it go by and do nothing. Its a humor that plays on the fundamental core of who we are, and it only works if we are fundamentally good people.

A few years back my wife had a small car while our kid was an infant. When wheeling the stroller up to the car in the parking lot, the first thing we did was unlock the doors and pop the trunk with the key fob button. This was so we could put the stroller in the trunk after we put the kid in the car seat inside. We soon realized that it looked a bit different, so the joke became - EVERY time we got to the car:

... "Now into the trunk with you!"

It was just as funny each time, just as it was funny seeing the fake car seat sitting on the roof of the car tearing around the parking lot.

If deer population is the cause, Wolves are the answer.

There was an article in a scientific magazine last year pointing out the unintended ecological positives of reindroducing wild wolf populations into national forests. Releasing predetors allowed certain species of trees to flourish - ones that kept getting eaten by elk when they weren't looking for wolves. Perhaps having a pack of wolves in Salinas would help keep out lettuce clean!

Use the paper ballot option

If your district - like mine - has gone with the paperless system, don't vote with it. Instead, request a paper ballot. Polling places will have these as a backup to the electronic system, and they are just as valid.

Vote with paper if you don't trust the system!
