@LondonLad

But common deduction I would assume it is the most solid form of citizenship that one could get. Which would mean being born on American soil to TWO American citizens.

That is the fail-cherry on top of your Giant Sundae of Fail.

"Natural born citizens" are persons who acquired citizenship at birth under U.S. law. This can happen in many ways, and being born on American soil to two American citizens is not required.

@LondonLad

Didn't say I didn't believe them, just said we need to see them.

I know what you haven't said. But do you believe them? If not, then why would you trust these archived documents that could have been accessed by these co-conspirators?

Thursday, August 6, 2009 01:52 PM

@LondonLad

But she was talking ONLY about the Long Form original and neither confirmed nor refuted the other one on the Obama site. So anything she had to say CANNOT be taken as verifying any other docs.

So you agree that based on her statement, Obama was born in Hawaii? That is after all what she said.

@jon_mx

Try me. 90% of 'birthers' would shut up if the actual birth certificate was released.

Same question to you as to LondonLad.

State officials in Hawaii with access to whatever archived documents there are on the record confirming that those records show Obama was born in Hawaii.

Either you believe them or you don't.

"Believing them" means you accept that there are indeed such records.

If you don't believe them, then you believe there are people with access to the archived documents who are in on the conspiracy, willing to put their reputations and their careers on the line. If that's the case, why would you believe that they hadn't forged, altered or planted documents in the archive to cover themselves?

Anyone who still isn't convinced that Obama was born in Hawaii must fall in the latter category.

So if archive documents were produced showing what these Hawaii state officials claimed is correct, why would you conclude "well, I thought they were lying before but now I'm convinced."?

@LondonLad

The Hawaii DofH said that the record in her possession does indeed show that Obama was born in Hawaii.

So is your contention that this is the case, and Obama could have obtained a legitimate, authentic COLB from Hawaii, but instead chose to produce a forgery?

Or are you saying you believe the Hawaii DofH was lying?

Thursday, August 6, 2009 12:34 PM

@LondonLad

Neither the Governor nor the Director of Health has said any thing at all about the entity on the Obama website.

The Director of Health has only referred to the birth certificate in the custody of the Hawaiin records office.

...and said that it does indeed show that Obama was born in Hawaii.

So is your contention that this is the case, and Obama could have obtained a legitimate, authentic COLB from Hawaii, but instead chose to produce a forgery?

Or are you saying you believe the Hawaii DofH was lying?

It's got to be one or the other, unless you're saying that the record the Hawaii DofH examined was also a forgery, in which case the plot thickens...

LondonLad...

That's puzzling. How did the Governor come by this document of which you speak?

Care to provide a few links would you?

This has been widely reported. Given your burning interest in the issue it's sloppy of you to have missed this:

E.g., from http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8171314.stm:

Dr Chiyome Fukino, Director of the Hawaii Department of Health, has released a statement confirming that she has "seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen".

How did this state official "came by" this document? She went into the archives and examined it.

He's not my commander in chief either. I'm just glad he's our Prez.

"I don't believe he's my commander-in-chief," said Maryland resident Kathy Fuller.

Ms. Fuller is (accidentally, I think) correct - if she's not in the military that is - the president is not her CIC.

Holding people back from rescuing others?

People were drowning in their homes, and the government was holding back boats waiting to rescue them. Why doesn't really matter. This was another example of a major screwup associated with Katrina. Can we find another spin besides "Jindal lied"?

Hmm... actually, it doesn't seem unreasonable to me to try to keep some control over people heading out to try to help people. A couple of hours delay is probably not a life-or-death delay at that point in things, by then people were stranded in their homes and needed help fast but you don't want those attempting rescue to become further victims.

Whether two hours delay is reasonable for what was accomplished with it I don't know, as I don't really know the details on what was accomplished. But it doesn't seem outrageous on principle to me.

@frgough

Somebody makes more money than you and you are ready with machetes out to rip them to pieces, screaming your hate with each swing.

wtf is it with you people? Are you reading impaired? On crack? Suffering the lasting effects of some kind of in-utero oxygen deficiency? Weren't paying attention because you were too busy sucking off Rush Limbaugh?

Which part of "they claimed to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars due to their utterly superb and incomparable financial acumen, then when they ran their companies into the ground they wanted taxpayers to provide a handout" were you idiots sleeping through?

If there's some explanation for comments like the quote above that doesn't involve the quoted person being a complete moron, I'm missing it.

Some folks aren't paying attention

Do try and follow along. Nobody is talking about capping all salaries. Just the salaries of employees of companies that take bailout money from taxpayers.

I was thinking it seems like more than one of the snively crowd has been missing that rather important point.
