Salon Cred

Salon has no credibility on this issue. Your coverage of it has been a source of frustration from the beginning. Manjoo jumped on this from the get go, well before much of the data was gathered and presented. He was vehement from the start in denouncing any particulars and merits of the argument as well as those who defended it. Manjoo is not the fellow Salon should repeatedly allow to comment on the issue. Salon owes its readers a more evolved, less rabidly biased discussion of Kennedy's presentation of the data.

Exactly

Your column sums up the situation more completely and accurately than any of the other pundits, bloggers, and editorialists have done this morning - and renews my faith in Salon... thank you!

Thanks!

WOW. Glenn, your column is fabulous enough and on target enough to inspire me to re-subscribe to Salon. THANK YOU.

I read Dowd's predictable hate letter to Hillary this morning, and then read Gloria Steinems's column from the day before, to get a reality check. Your piece sets the tone for the rest of my day and I appreciate it.

unhinged

Agree completely. and wow, those Hillary haters sure love to bash you, still! I think they will never let that go, or forgive you (and the 18 million others) for supporting her. As for Avarosis, he absolutely did come unhinged about the Clintons and lost a lot of readership as a result. To not support a particular democrat is one thing... to act like Maureen Dowd by finding evil in every gesture is another (Dowd is still pressing on in her anti-Hillary "coverage", even now... pitiful). Avarosis, like many who make up the cult of Obama, has lately been given to hysterics when confronted by others with a different, but not necessarily derogatory, view.

3 - 4 patients?

You note in your account that nurses care for three and often four patients while on the job. While I appreciate the supportive comments you made about nurses generally, such an observation highlights the often out-of-touch relationships between MDs and RNs. A typical Medical-Surgical RN will have between six to eight patients to care for on any given day. It's not uncommon for that number to increase to ten, where I work. This creates a burden for nurses and patients that hardly promotes optimal patient care. I try to do my best for my patients every day, but often I go home (late) knowing I could have done more for them if the nurse to patient ratio had not been so difficult.

Original article: I Like to Watch

Agree

Yeah, I have to agree.. I was underwhelmed and in fact somewhat angry because I felt the writers let the show go to crap. Me and my friends have watched from the first episode, and though we've been pissed at the awkwardly long hiatus the series took, we were looking forward to this latest. None of us were happy with the result. One out of character downer after another, and the flashbacks got silly. I hope it gets better, doesn't look like it will, judging from the short previews but as you may know, a spin off of sorts is already being promoted. Life on New Caprica, or something.... Ugh.
