Who the hell cares

I mean really, even for broadsheet this is vapid pointless stuff.

God, you have this big bully pulpit and there are thousands of interesting relevant issues you could be covering and this is the best you can come up with?

You'd almost think BS was the domain of middle class middle aged privileged white woman who's sole use for femminism is to protect themselves from self examination or challenging their preconceptions.

Never heard of him

Some hipster for the salon set?

Original article: Going down in flames

Classy

A friend of mine had to evacuate her family and pets today. Laughing at them and mocking their misfortune is the mark of a true scumbag. I suggest you try that when the inevitable deaths occur. The corpses of people who have been burned alive are not pretty.

2 Deaths now

2 firefighters die battling blaze in Los Angeles County

I imagine that kick in your step is extra fucking special now. All the LA haters can have a good laugh now.

@It certainly can't be women.

Some women enjoy and even request anal sex.

I'm sure TYracy would be still defending Tila

If Merriman had failed to restrain her, hence enabling Tequila to drunk drive and kill Tracy's children. That would be the BS Feminist way.

Perhaps its lack of Racism

Perhaps whites, being less prone to support a President because he is black are judging him on his performance since being elected and are less than happy with it.

Original article: Wall Street buys Washington

Capitalism has gone the way of Communism

As in Russia, where communism ended up bearing very little resemblance to Marxism, so Capitalism in the USA is in name only.

Article starts from a bollocks premise

The USA is not and never has been the "Worlds Policeman", in common with most countries it has acted solely in its own self interest, often to the radical detriment of other countries. Only the fact that is is so large and powerful allows it to pretend to some form of altruism.

Message to Americans - the majority of the world *does* not want you to be the "Worlds Policeman", the majority of the world just wishes you'd stop the f**k interfering where you're not wanted, which is most places.

This pernicious myth of American exceptionalism infects even the most liberal of Americans.

Monday, September 28, 2009 07:13 PM

@K. Trout

Yup, not an American (Kiwi/Ozzie). And interesting point you raise re the policeman image. Maybe it depends what side of the left/right divide you're on? I'm pretty sure one of the perpetual victim whines of the neocons is how no one appreciates the sacrifices they make being the world policeman.

p.s I do actually like Americans and respect the ideals the USA used to embody. Its pretty hard though these days.

"if the Iranian President hadn't threatened to "wipe them off the map" (and no, that is not a mistranslation)"

Ah - yes it is, absolutely. Its a lie promulgated by MEMWRI, which just happens to be staffed by ex mossad members.

The mistranslation has been confirmed by many independent Persian translators.

You think he should apologise!

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. Salon has become a pathetic parody of its former self, a symbol of what's rotten in the Dems these days.

@phylmom

And Paul, how sad that you don't know the love of a dog. You don't know what you're missing.

Lucky escape for the dog though, so self righteous and precious the dog barks hurt his iddle widdle ears and he has to wear ear plugs - the horror!

Original article: Women play "rough," too

@ham and drink - "Given that women are more likely to be victims of unprovoked violent attacks than men"

Actually that's rubbish - men are by far the majority victims of violence.

Original article: Hold off on that mammogram?

Similar guidelines are being used for Prostrate cancer

Its used to be that yearly examinations were recommended for men from early ages. Then results showed early regular examination didn't make any difference to survival rates and often resulted in unnecessary and often damaging surgery.

So exams are scheduled later in life and less often - no fuss. Of course there's no blokesheet invested in finding a problem with it.

Must be a very USA thing.

Original article: Police to talk to Woods

Wait for the Broadsheet Analysis

Especially if it turns out his wife did beat him with a golf club. The contortions BS will go through to blame it on him will as always be hilarious, if somewhat depressing.
