I'm with you on this - love is not some zero sum game, adoring ones pets does not subtract from the ability to love humans. Though I'm also with you that I love my pets more than most people.

Your letter is a perfect example of the sickness that pervades American culture with regards to the notion that your precious children might have a hint of sexuality. Its the lefts version of the right's obsession with terrorism. Try and have a rational debate on root causes of terrorism and how it might be addressed other than by brute force - "OMG! Why do you hate America!" Try to discuss teenage sexuality and such hot topics as under age sex - which varies depending on what state you are in - "OMG YOU'RE A PAEDOPHILE ! BURN HIM!"
