Original article: Reporting for duty

A GOP nightmare scenario?

American soldiers returning from service in Iraq and running for public office in 2006.

Flashback....

Kenneth Lay, I'd like to introduce you to Richard Scrushy. Maybe he can give you a few pointers.

Original article: Bush: Trust me on spying

The Bush fantasy

With numerous reports of incarceration without legal representation, illegal spying, CIA renditions, and torture, it is quite easy to see that Bush appears to have a general disdain for the US Constitution, the Geneva Convention, and international law. But I have always been curious, from which Bush fantasy does this contempt for law originate? Does it originate from his fantasy as a lawless wild wild west cowboy? Or is it perhaps his fantasy as God's chosen messenger whereby mortal law is considered to be secondary?

Why do the reporters bother to attend?

McClellan never answers any questions and when he does respond it is always with contempt. What if the White House press secretary held a news conference and no one attended? What would be lost? Not much from what I have read.

Hmmm....

And how was Zarqawi responsible for the 9/11 attacks on the US?

Friday, July 7, 2006 11:07 AM

What about the old threats...

Before the government pretends there are new terrorist threats, maybe they should first do something about the old ones. Or have they already forgotten about bin Laden and whoever sprinkled anthrax around Florida, Washington DC, and New York City?

A different approach

The only time that the Republican leadership takes the initiative is when there is a need to help their own. If congressional Democrats are serious about troop withdrawal from Iraq they simply need to piggyback such legislation on a bill that would eliminate the estate tax.

I must have missed it...

When did George Bush appear to be competent?

Original article: How the other third lives

A high price for a ticket

I'm not sure I can understand Mr. Hinderaker and his glowing accolades for Bush. My guess is that to become a member of the "relatively small group who heard President Bush talk", the price of admission was to write a shill piece, something that is increasingly difficult to do. This may also explain why there was just a small group.

Washington DC is a lot like my house...

I don't know why I bother to clean it because the same old dirt is back a week later.

McCain is just another right-wing lap dog

He had a chance to stand up against the Swift Boaters and later to illegal torture and secret renditions, but instead chose to sell out. Toss McCain on the same ethical scrap heap as Colin Powell. Obama could be the right person at the right time.

My apologies to Pete Townshend...

They'll be fighting on K Street
With good legislation in defeat
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who brought this on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

They tipped our hand with a neutered constitution
Took a bow for their new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my paycheck and pay
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

Meet the new House
Same as the old House?

Thursday, February 8, 2007 11:59 AM

Just another day...

- Another billion spent
- A few solders died
- New terrorists recruited
- Some Iraqis civilians murdered
- Halliburton stock is up
- An incompetent president remains oblivious
- The Senate says there is nothing to debate
- I ponder how we lost our way

Just sweep this mess under the carpet too

I presume this to be part of the Walter Reed clean-up and refurbishment plan implemented by this morally corrupt administration. Hopefully CNN and Discovery will redirect their focus and do an in-depth report on what led to the brush off. However I won't hold my breath waiting for the broadcast.

Original article: The president's veto

Bush veto, mission accomplished...

The Dems need to marginalize Bush, Cheney, Condi and company at every turn. Reid and Pelosi need to go on more oversea trips and meet with more foreign leaders. I want to see those feeble images of Bush on TV whining about congressional leaders taking trips to meet with foreign dignitaries.

Like minded members of congress should begin rebuilding damaged relations with our allies and open constructive dialog with our adversaries. Bush and company had six years to show they can lead and all they continue to do is recite worn sound bites.

The US, actually the world, has some real problems and it is time to cut our losses with this bumbling Bush bunch. The goal should be to keep them tied in knots with investigations so they remain busy explaining their hypocrisy. Maybe a few of them can even be tossed in prison where they belong. Either way the goal should be to keep them from doing further damage to our country.

Start working towards 2009 when this group will finally be history. Their mess will take a long to time to clean up.

The irony...

For years George Bush has imprisoned people at Guantanamo Bay without any evidence that most of them have done anything wrong. These people have been denied legal representation, denied the to know why they have been imprisoned, denied an appearance before an impartial court.

Scooter was given a trial before a jury of peers. Based on the evidence presented, those peers convicted Scooter of obstructing a federal investigation. George Bush believing Scooter has been through enough turmoil commutes the sentence.

Maybe it is time to take the Constitution of the United States and place it into storage until we find ourselves a representative government that believes the document has a purpose.

Original article: Giving it all away

How many lies

must a lying man tell before he is called a liar? Let us not forget that Gonzales started lying during his confirmation hearing when Senator Feingold asked him about warrantless eavesdropping and Gonzales dismissed the question as a "hypothetical situation". The lies have continued to roll steadily along ever since. To bad Specter has such a short memory.

Original article: Rolling over, again

Why are the Dems so afraid?

Bush supporters now number around 30% and Cheney's numbers are lower than dirt. The only people that still support this administration are people that walk around with aluminum foil wrapped around their head to block the radio waves from outer space.

If the Dems are afraid to stand up to these incompetent screwballs then why are they collecting a paycheck? The Dems should just hand the country over to King George and Queen Cheney and resign. The results would be the same and the taxpayers could save some money.
