  • Ok so at what point do you simply take away all responsibility from people

[Read the article: More fun with subprime and credit cards]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Seriously. Since this is Salon and no faux communist crackpot screed is every brushed off out of hand, what is the point at which you simply wipe the slate clean from people who clearly are too greedy and stupid and infantile (or just cynical) to manage their own lives. I hear a lot about predatory lending but I have yet to hear of someone who was duct taped, tossed in the trunk of a car and made to sign a mortgage app. Every new college term the brickyard is littered with credit card companies giving away frisbees and t-shirts for a new card and these so called adults I guess, don't understand that they're not giving free money away. We should certainly change the law to bar the use of these credit cards to everyone under the age of what? 45? And for the 45 year olds who get into deep debt - well it's just THE MAN ripping us off, screw him, tear up the bill!

So I want to clearly understand who you think is entitled to be responsible for themselves. Because if it's no one, great. I'm going straight to Vegas to blow it all on strippers and gambling. THE MAN WILL PAY!!!!

Perhaps we should put a massive consumption tax on all non staples, say 100% tax. If you really want that new TV you should pay double for it. Then we can take the tax and give the proceeds to all the people who bought a TV but can't pay for it. That works for me.

  • In keeping with the official Salon ethic

[Read the article: Please stop whining, iPhone early adopters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I demand a free, no, two free iPhones as reparations from The Man who clearly cheated me.

  • Why bother?

[Read the article: Burn that baby fat]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I've been watching the same rhinos come to the gym for years and they haven't lost a pound. Why should their fat lazy kids be any different?

  • In case of an emergency

[Read the article: Ask the pilot]

I'm taking my laptop in order to swing it at people to clear a path. My footprints will be all over the back of your head.

    That is all.

  • You all deserve one another

Being crazy is the new activism. Insanity is the new hate.

  • 3Q2011

[Read the article: The Iraq debate: Caving in before it begins?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is when we will leave Iraq. That's 3rd quarter of 2011. It will be announced roughly 60 days after Iran test fires a nuclear capable IRBM back to back with a low yield underground atomic test.

  • No one really wants a populist

[Read the article: Killing her softly with his song]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Because they're all closest fascists. And no one wants a 'politician' because they're vain enough to imagine they're above it all. So perhaps it does not matter either way. I know for sure I'll vote for anyone the Dems nominate. Doesn't really matter to me who. It's going to end in a dead heat against which ever GOP Freakazoid is running and the whole thing will get tossed to some court or another in which case the GOP wins. And many of you will blog about it for years. Me? I am planning on learning Spanish so I can emigrate to South America.

  • We will be in Iraq until 3Q2011 the earliest

[Read the article: The case of the disappearing benchmarks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Who will you turn on and blame at that point? Oh I imagine the usual suspects and boogeymen.

  • Who cares?

They will act w/o legal sanction. They already do. 'Legality' is just window dressing anyway.

  • Another bullshit yarn spooler

[Read the article: Not ready for prime time?]

I bet most of you think he's the White Obama, donchya?

  • I for one hope all the GOP'rs drown in lava

[Read the article: Killing her softly with his song]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'm pretty damn sick of hearing all the people tell me "This isn't MY GOP...." well who's was it who the hell voted for it THE LAST 30 GODDAMN YEARS. No, y'all sold your souls to the devil and now the devil wants his due. Sucks to be you and die screaming, all of you.

  • Well of course, any idiot knows that.

[Read the article: Economy loses jobs for the first time in four years]

If any of you were sober in high school you might have learned that "productivity" goes up when wages go down. That's what productivity IS. Of course the Larry Kudlow's of the world will be cheering about how much more productive we are today. That's kind of the point.

  • The reduction will equal exactly the recruitment shortfall

    [Read the article: Various items]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So as to claim success with the new level of recruitment. At the same time, they'll just increase everyone's tour a day or two to make up for it.

  • Here's what I'm missing

[Read the article: The housing bust finally takes its toll on jobs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Where I live every single square foot of brushland is being torn down to make room for endless professional office space. Space that rarely if ever gets rented and before it does, someone slaps up another 50,000 sqft right next door. Row after row of empty office space that at best is half filled with insurance brokers, real estate brokers, accountants, lawyers, chiropractors...

Well someone must be getting rich off some wrinkle in the tax law I don't know about.

  • What nonsense

    [Read the article: Various items]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The US is neither a dictatorship nor a failed state. Though it makes entertaining rhetoric to hear trust fund anarchists and idiot amateur communists think so.

    Congo is a failed state

    Zimbabwe is a failed state

    North Korea is a dictatorship

    Syria is a dictatorship

    Lebanon is a failed state

  • Hmm so when you stop giving out SSRI's people are hurting themselves?

[Read the article: Girls' suicide rates soar]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

We stopped giving out SSRI's because people were hurting themselves and when we do that we find that people hurt themselves. Well I'm not a psychopharmacologist so I'm sure I don't know but it's awfully odd, you think, isn't it?

Anyway - big picture, after a generation of feminizing men and masculizing women is it any wonder that women begin to suffer from the same maladies that men traditionally have, like depression, heart disease, suicide etc? No real mystery to me.

Welcome to our world, ladies. Now go bang your heads on someone else's wall. Thanks.

  • My pariah dogs are great

[Read the article: Feminist blog goes to the dogs]

One Kelev Kanani and one Carolina Dingo. Indestructible, aloof, stable behavior, calm. Sure they look like mutts but they're hundreds of generations of Darwinian engineering.
