What--No Freaking LAWYERS Wanted the Job?

This guy didn't even go to law school. He's completely NOT qualified for the position of enforcing our securities laws.

What a joke!!!

If you are not angry, then you are not paying attention

The tea baggers' anger is justified. Working class Americans have been getting screwed for years, and they know it.

They also know that Democrats are partially to blame. Clinton's NAFTA cost million of Americans their jobs. Clinton's "financial reforms" were partly responsible for Wall Street's excesses. Our political system has been corrupted, and the tea baggers know it. As Glenn said, even a stopped watch is right twice a day.

Sadly, the only ones giving voice to the tea baggers are Beck, Fox and the GOP. However, propaganda from Beck and Fox will only fool people for a limited time. Instead, if the Dems provided real reforms, instead of acting like corporate whores, they could gain some of the tea baggers' support.

Schumer is Partly Correct

When Schumer claims that "voters" don't care about civil liberties, he means those "voters" who actually talk to him personally.

However, the "voters" who actually get a chance speak to Schumer about issues are not average citizens. Instead, they're lobbyists. Thus, Schumer is kind of telling the truth when he claims voters don't care. The only voters he speaks to, lobbyists, actually don't care about civil liberties. Why should they? Lobbyists only care about the financial interests of the corportations they lobby for.

Schumer's mistake is shared by most of our representatives in Washington, no matter if they are Democrats or Republicians. They confuse the interests of voters' back home with the interests of the lobyists they meet with. Let's face it. The great majority of Americans have neither the time nor the financial resources to go to Washington and speak to their representatives about issues. So who's there instead, speaking to your representatives every day? Lobbists!

Taking it one step further, that why the Democrats passed the FISA sell-out. The only "voters" who were heard by the Democrats were the lobbyists for the telecoms.

Obama's Kibuki Dance

Obama was for this "FISA compromise" before it was announced. The "fix" was in folks. He gets to claim he wants telecom immunity removed. There will be a vote on that, and just like the last time, it will lose. Then Obama will vote for the great compromise, just like he promised he would. Him, Pelosi, and Hoyer all agreed that this was how it would be, before this bill was introduced last week.

This is a polital theater, nothing more.

If Obama really wanted the FISA bill stopped, all he needs to say to Harry Reid is "Harry, if you let this bill come to the Senate floor, when I'm president, the only dime in Federal money Nevada will ever get will be for that nuclear dump you're against."

That's how politics are really played.

BTW-does Obama really want to be the guy who says "I voted for it before I voted against it." Dind't work out too well for Kerry.

Obama, Pelosi, and Hoyer Back Stabbed Us

Look, this bill would have never seen the light of day if Obama had not approved of it before hand. He's the Democratic Party's Nominee for president. Does anyone really think that Hoyer, Pelosi or any other Democrat would make a move on FISA without first checking with Obama? Think about it.

Given that he is the Democratic Party's leader, I believe that Obama was pulling the strings for this deal from the start. For all his brave talk, he wanted to get this off the table prior to the general election so he wouldn't seen "weak on terror." Given that he can't be attacked in the primary election for selling us out, now is the perfect time for him to backstab us.

It's easy for Obama and the Dems to justify this to themselves. They believe its for the "greater good" of getting Obama elected. They have perfected the justification of "We need to screw our supporters over so we can get elected." That's how we got NAFTA in the first place. Personally, I'm tired of it.

So, the question is, what do we do? I donated money to Obama in his primary. No more. Maybe I'll vote for him if the election in my state is going to be close. Most likely, I won't. But, I'm still going to give to ActBlue, and support better Democrats in primary elections. Its my belief that the only way to stop Dems party leaders from doing this to us is to make them pay for it.

Obama Approved of this Bill

If you think Obama wasn't on board with this "compromise" prior to it becoming public, then you are a fool.

As if Pelosi, Hoyer and Harman would do shit without Obama's say so. This is a Democratic bill, for God's sake. The GOP can't get anything through the House. You don't think the Democratic Presidential Nominee approved of this "compromise" before hand? The fix was in. Let me repeat it, "the fix was in."

Funny how this Democratic "compromise" comes out right after the primaries are over. That's so Obama can "run to the right" without worring about those of us who actually care about lawbreaking, illegal spying and our Constitutional rights voting against him.

This is a Democratic Party back stab to us all. They were all in on it. Every single one of them.
