Now HOLD It!

John's girlfriend was a BRUNETTE! Has Berk forgotten his own stuff? If so I have this old, bound collection I can loan him...

Ok, Folks, Wipe Your Eyes and Listen Up

Google "Berkeley Breathed" and read the few recent interviews you can find. Berk revived "Bloom County" because he was curious where it would lead. Furthermore, he has been making good money for many years as a script doctor for Hollywood (I wouldn't be surprised to discover, many years from now, that nearly every great line in a Hollywood comedy from roughly '88 to '05 was his).

As to his condition, it is controllable and even partially curable. It's not like the man has cancer of the pancreas. So relax, ok?

Original article: Rove sees Obama win

Don't Fall For This Stunt

Rove also claimed that Hillary Clinton would win the nomination. The thing it, he KNEW he was wrong and was trying to use his influence to swing it to Hillary, who would have been the ideal candidate for the Republicans to face.

I believe the reason he's making this claim now is to signal to the Republican base that Obama is toast. He may be wrong, of course, but still we shouldn't fall for his so-called prognosticating.

For Anybody Who Wants Proof That Governor Palin Sent A Message to the AIP...

...here it is:

Simply unbelievable that the MSM didn't pick this up.

NUTS!!

Good God, Obama has WON!! Those who see otherwise are not right in the head.

Felons Are Citizens, Even When They Are In Prison

Which means they should be able to vote - PERIOD. Disenfranchising them is a violation of the Constitution.

Sarris Just Can't Let It Go, Can He?

I have watched every minute of every documentary in existence about the career of Stanley Kubrick. I have also read nearly every sentence written about him. Not ONCE have I ever heard or read the name Max Ophuls in relation to him. Not from his brother-in-law, not from his widow, not from his daughters.

It is high time Sarris learned that Kubrick was an authentic and unique genius, and give it a bloody rest.

Amen, Andrew. Amen!

@Joan Walsh

Waaaay back in 1990 Alexander Cockburn and Angela Davis were invited onto "Nightline" by Ted Koppel to answer what was then a reasonable question: "With the fall of Communism, was leftist ideology dead?" Both Davis and Cockburn did reasonable well, though only reasonably.

McCain Can Kiss My WHITE Ass

How dare he criticize Lewis's words, when he himself knows what he and Governor Palin's rallies have potentially unleashed. If he doesn't know, is he blind and deaf? One wonders.

This Is For All Thoughtful Salon Readers

Do any of you - right or left, or moderate - actually believe that Readerreader is anything other than a paid shill? Forget how he/she/it writes. Forget how he/she/it prevaricates. The fact is that he/she/it is just here to appear personable. He/she/it is just here to make the case for McPalin.

You know what? I'm sick of the fucker. I can honestly say, given the destruction wreaked upon this country for the last 28 years that I would KILL Readerreader if I ever met her/him/it in person.

Back in the 1980s I worked with the Coalition for the Homeless in San Francisco. During that time I saw what Reaganomics did to people. And the rage from that time has not left me. But back then if someone had told me that the U.S. government would bail out Wall Street the way it has been bailed out, I would have laughed. After all, nothing like that could happen in my lifetime!

I was naive.

I should have understood that the horrific greed of that era would "trickle down" to our own, and drown us. I should have known better.

And now, here at Salon, we have a miserable little fucker who, in oh-so-mild words, tries to drop the shit-bomb that McPalin actually makes a decent candidate, and that we should elect them.

My God, what a scum-sucker. Long may he/she/it die when the revolution comes.

We Owe George W. Bush A Debt of Gratitude

He has so thoroughly destroyed the right-wing in this country that it may never rise again. Thanks to his incompetence and brutality, the Reagan Revolution is officially over. Thank God!

Original article: Sarah Palin on "SNL"

All Of This Is Moot

The real issue is why did Michaels ignore the mountain of mail he was getting asking him to please not have Palin host the show. It was outrageous to give a platform - however booby-trapped - to Palin, a right-wing extremist who has no problem inciting near-violence at her political rallies.

@khengsta

Somebody probably already wrote this - I haven't gotten far enough through the letters to tell - but you're right. No decent, God-fearing, red-blooded American who believes in freedom and liberty could stomach what Singapore does for even five minutes. And your drug laws are the least of it, pal. You live in the only surviving fascist state. Congratluations.

Original article: Stephen King's God trip

I Don't Know About Religion and Politics...

...but I can think of one man who undoubtedly haunts King, and for a very good reason.

As to his fiction, King "left the building" when he published the final two books in his much-beloved "Dark Tower" series, basically destroying his legacy. And then there was "Dreamcatcher" - I mean, really, "shitweasles"?! Ugh.
