@ ohiopolitico

You're worthless. You can't even say what "Obamacare" is. Because it isn't, fool.

Tuesday, September 22, 2009 08:14 PM

This is worthless, going nowhere and much ado about nada

These functionaries are going through motions that are meaningful only to themselves.

Every moment, every comment is a waste of our money. The mere involvement of these individuals means nothing will happen.

How long does the media need to witness the charade before they call it for what it is?

I share the opinions of others here...

Joe B. may be a bit of a knucklehead but it sounds as if you're encouraging the kind of behavior for which we vilify these politicians: obfuscating.

Joe might not speak diplomatically or strategically. God knows many of our citizens are language and logic-challenged. But, referring to an old expression, to "tell it like it is" only helps to keep us grounded and on the same page.

The POV of the writer suggests someone entrenched like the so-called mainstream media, who seem too willing to play the semantics games of the Inner Beltway.

OK this is getting too much like a Stephen King plot for me.

Isn't this like "The Stand"? Maybe I'm thinking of a Wes Craven movie.

Absolute garbage.

Stunning in it's venality.

Disingenuous and inappropriate.

A minor masterpiece in focused screw jobs.

This is a cheese issue.

People aren't getting enough cheese.

Look, I've got a headache..

The noise is starting to get to me, interfere with me on a personal basis. You guys are great but to even see words in print such as "squaresville" or "readerreader", I get hives.

After watching Barry O, it occurs to me that now the big megaphones come out. The moral validity of the single payer argument can no longer be assailed but that may mean we'll now suffer an even greater onslaught of innuendo, constant "gotcha" arguments, and endless complaints about minutiae.

I know, be strong. But both on and offline, I'm starting to reflexively de-ball Republicans. I no longer tolerate an argument from any of them. There are no sides, it's my way/highway time and like anyone who's this full of self-righteousness, I'll claim they brought it on themselves.

It's not winning me friends and I've got a headache.

It's another reason to vilify Brokaw

For fomenting this "Greatest Generation" crap.

A pig apologizes...for what?

He said "I deeply regret the comments I made in what I believed to be a private conversation."

He doesn't regret the potential crime, the conflict-of-interest, the infidelity, his children's damaged psyches or anything else.

Politicians be hanged. Figuratively speaking, of course. :)

Original article: A very SIGG deal

I'm still using my plastic Nalgene bottles

I got them cheap at an outlet. They work great and I certainly can't afford to replace them.

Given my age and container usage, I really doubt a little BPA will cause problems for me.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009 09:08 AM

Oh for all that's holy in heaven and on earth...

Quit using the word "lady"!

@ mikelx

I realize that victory seems necessary. I'd argue either that it does not or we see different goals.

Why is this being cast as The Penultimate Political Showdown? This horse race mentality is what's killing us and "they"'re using to drive fear.

Flabby legislation in service to incrementalism means you and I will be dead, fug that. Obama's let the clowns make their own little monster for a reason.

If this turd don't float, we flush it, we don't eat it.

Let's just start calling this crap for what it is: Nonsense.

We know what we want and so do they.

Anything at all that comes out of Max Baucus' mouth, committees or poo-hole is FAIL.

Any compromise is FAIL.

Any hint of pay-off, corruption or Board-of-Directors' seats on any legislation is FAIL.

It's a simple concept:

Full-featured single payer coverage for everyone at all times for all our lives.

Cost is NOT an issue. Blood, oil and treasure costs us billions. You know we can afford this if we have our heads on straight.

We know what we want. And so do they!

Monday, September 7, 2009 01:01 PM

We do not want a public "option"

We want single payer health care for everyone with everything covered all the time.

That's it, right there.

Everything else is crap or a smokescreen. Or a crappy smokescreen. Whatever.

Takes all kinds to make a world

Funny, I've never considered Diane Sawyer "attractive". I am a heterosexual male with catholic tastes but this had never occurred to me.

Well, one person's...

@ psdoff: you've come unhinged, man

To quote: "I asked why being elected to office deserves respect? I have always thought someone had to earn my respect."

It is hard to grasp what kind of fool makes these statements. The structure of elected political office is the paradigm to which we owe our respect and pledge our fealty. The act of running for office and winning is the earning of that respect.

That you do not understand this about your own country is profound and deeply disturbing. Since you seem able to write denotes some education in your background. That you underwent that education but still lack this fundamental understanding of your own culture is almost beyond belief.

Unless, of course, you are being willfully recalcitrant. In which case, you're simply an asshole.

Which is it?

This is mind-boggling to me

I have lived through the terms of 11 Presidents. It is inconceivable to me that anyone, anyone at all for any reason, would refuse to air a radio or television address of a sitting President to the populace.

I realize this could sound mundane but... the level of disrespect on this issues makes the "town halls" pale in comparison.

America's shame is revealed again and again and again. Through the venality, the pettiness, the selfishness. What in the name of something has happened to us all?

It is well known that Hitler had a soft spot for Britain

While Hitler's megalomania blossomed like a malign flower, he was circumspect about Britain because, like most of the rest of the world, he was in awe of their achievements and Empire. And cognizant of it's strength as an island nation.

He was extremely paranoid about drawing Britain in, or rather the timing of it.

But these are things any tactician would consider and Hitler considered himself a master though his generals knew better.

So I'm not getting the Buchanan angle: was he trying to say that Hitler didn't intend to go to war? Or in the manner in which he did?
