Please review the posts of Glock45. He freely admits to owning and operating firearms. Federal law restricts mentally ill people from such practices. I believe it is your duty to report his registered name and address to the ATF as responsible citizens. In the best of his posts he is stranger than a snakes suspenders. He should not be walking the streets armed. I suspect that he couldn't hit a barn from the inside, but innocent bystanders abound. Please do your duty.
Thank you.
The worst thing for corrupt gasbags is to have the opposition be able to say they had X amount of time and have done nothing with it. If they put through a terrible bill that is a bottomless gift to the health care industry, sets the stage to gut womens rights, and does nothing really for the consumer, they can always blame somebody else for blocking them from doing it right. And they still keep their bribes from the health care industry, the status quo remains in place, and they still have all their personal power. Not bad. For them. Sucks to be us.
They could actually fight for a good bill. Tell the Blue Dogs, "Get behind our bill or you lose your committees, and your states get zero in the way of pork. We can guarantee you won't be re-elected if you don't support us. If you do support us and the people like the results, you have a good chance. We have to get this working soon to be noticed before the election. Your choice". The trouble with this is that they lose the status quo and and a lot of their nice bribes. Sucks to be them.
I bet I know what they're going to do...
It doesn't appear that the preview function on the new format works properly either. This new format is almost as bad as our legislature.
When real pro-life people protested their taxes being used to finance an immoral and illegal war of choice, the government, backed by courts and legislature, found that we have no control over how our taxes are spent. Now the pro-life-for-fetuses-only crowd want the same privilege. So sorry; there's precedent now. And it's their fault :)
He is clearly a fascist. Benito Mussolini called fascism a corporatocracy. In present terms it would be government of the corporations, by the corporations, for the corporations. This, regrettably, is Obama. Our legislative branch has been racing that way since Eisenhower. The corporations have the money and our legislators are whores. Actually, they are more like pimps, since they get the dough and we get fucked. Still, and all, voting Obama was probably better than the alternative. I don't know if I can bring myself to do it again though. Sad...
"Of course, if you’ve ever actually tried to read an actual piece of legislation on a substantive topic, you’ll know that comprehension for a non-expert is typically about nil"
Since these corrupt gas bags are writing law that applies to us and not them (they are usually immune to the laws that they pass) they could write in in English. We're the ones who have to understand it. When I write a project specification, I have to use clear terms without technical jargon and I have to justify exceptions. They need to do the same.
Whatever bullshit they put through is going to be seriously inferior. Inferior people can not do a superior job. We only hire inferior people for government. In my experience, this is largely because venial, corrupt people get in local office by sucking up the to local power sources and continue the same way moving up the power chain. The only way to fix it is an automatic death penalty for any abuse of governmental power or privilege. Never happen, of course, but it's a fun fantasy...
The guy is a fiction writer. He is not bridled with the absolute truth. He takes a bit of history, twists it like taffy, and adds sprinkles. New story! Arthur C. Clark moved his island down to the equator so he could put a space elevator there. It's fiction.
Fiction is a means of getting people to think. It is a story that if successful, will cause thought and discussion though not necessarily, about the central plot of the book.
A historian may not take liberties with the past events. A fiction writer can.
Please lighten up?
Everything doesn't fall out that simplistically. Yes, there will probably always be bigots. That doesn't make bigotry an automatic root cause for everything. Many people of all colors are without insurance. Greed is more likely a root cause than bigotry. Quit being so fucking lazy.
For starters, these resolutions are about as useful as a margarine dildo. They have no purpose except to let the gas bags posture. It does nothing for the democrats. The republicans, though, are the party of chronic victims. They even whine when they are in power if anybody even tries to suggest a compromise. Wilson will be able to cry all over the place that the democrats are being mean to him while he was just exercising his right to free speech. The shitkickers in his district will bury him in money.
Real bright democrats. Nothing new here...

the market condition that exists when there is one buyer.
A bunch of the functional countries use this because it works...
Use a tested working model with years of functional operational data as a model...
It just might be enough to scare our alleged representatives into passing a bill that isn't a total Christmas present to the insurance lobbies.
Probably not...
I don't think hunthorse can help it. I think he's pretty much pushed his intelligence to the max with these posts. I know most horses are brighter than that, but somebody has to fill the lower end of the bell curve. Sad, but there it is..,
