Let's recap: he lied to his coach, lied to his team owner, lied to the NFL Commissioner, and lied to his fans, all of whom made him more money than 99% of the population of the world will ever see. He used his pre-sentencing time to break more laws, which anyone with a three digit IQ could figure would be found out. He squandered all the advantagees of his fine university education, with being stupid and cruel. And you folks want him back? Good luck with that. Bill Cosby is right: the black community needs to hold its young men to a higher standard, or the prisons will continue to be overflowing with young (and not so young) black felons. No, I'm sure he is not the only law breaker in the NFL. So what? When is enough enough? He's arrogant. He's dumb. And he wasn't that good *before* sitting out several seasons. Good riddance to bad rubbish, and the NFL can get rid of anyone else like him. Decent coaches and decent owners don't need to go looking for trouble. There will be plenty of non-felon quarterbacks eager for and *deserving* of a chance. Vick has his chance, and he blew it. He can get his second chance at something else that presents less temptation to excess.
Thanks for the reminder, but we realize she is a fighter. That's among the many reasons so many of us did not vote for her.
So, now that Senator Obama has renounced the offensive remark, will you all pull the fundraising ads? Ha! As if. Reminding us all once again that the Clinton campaign is stooping to new desparate depths with each passing week. The longer this campaign continues, the more objectionable the Clinton campaign tactics become. We've seen at least a dozen different personas in the past month alone. Keep on demonstrating how grasping, whiny, and un- Presidential her temperament is, and you will continue on the path of driving away all but the most ardent feminists and racists.
I am really offended by the suggestion that the small-potatoes donations I have been making to the Obama campaign somehow taint him as beholden to the oil companies just because I have the misfortune of living in Houston, and thus work in the energy industry, as do about 3 million of my closest Houston neighbors. FactCheck.org, cut us and him a break. If you can't see the difference between a hundred bucks here and there from a hard-working employee's paycheck and the big-bucks checks from oil company PACs, your observations lose their credibility.
Surprise, surprise: Pennsylvania's illiterate farmers and seniors outvoted the educated urbanites. The numbers still don't give Clinton enough delegates to even overcome Obama's lead, let alone clinch the nomination. Unless the superdelegates sell out the electorate, a Clinton nomination will not happen. Wake up and smell the coffee? They are too drunk on Clinton koolaid. Clinton's math-challenged worshipers think we should nominate a candidate that is the choice of the drooling class. We all know how well that worked out for the country the past eight years.
I thought by now that this is no longer news, but apparently the word hasn't gotten out: not all women need to be won over. Not all "hard-working white Americans" need persuasion to lay down our swords. Some of us have been on board with Obama for months now.
Disappointment among Clinton supporters is understandable, but any day now it's time to start facing facts. Clinton started the campaign with greater name recognition and an air of inevitabilty. Obama overcame many challenges and ran a better campaign. Now Clinton supporters have the audacity to make demands about his vice presidential candidate? The audacity of Clinton supporters knows no bounds. No matter who he picks for his running mate, Obama is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. If he picks her, he will be called henpecked in polite circles and a more crude term in others. If he doesn't pick her, we will all have to suffer the shrill keening from Clinton fanatics still stoking the flames of their outrage.
The Republican National Committee is wasting no time in creating ads for McCain using sound bites from Clinton's many pointed barbs questioning Obama's competence. Who wants a running mate who has told the world that you're incompetent? I certainly would not. Once again, Clinton was so very convinced of her own inevitablity that the possibility of her words coming back to bite her was dismissed.
Is it not just a wee bit presumptuous for Clinton people to be delivering ultimatums to the apparent nominee? This man is running for leader of the free world; he will manage this decision just fine, thanks. Give it up already. Consider showing just a bit of respect to the candidate.
Did I read this right-- *Karl Rove* is calling someone else "arrogant"? This is the pot calling the kettle black. You wanna see arrogant, Karl? Look at the man in the mirror.
Here's some news for you: meeting the expectations of you and the rest of you country club Republican types is unlikely to be high on his list of campaign strategies.
We are going to hear a lot of whinging from the Republicans, and rejoing from the rest of us, as Obama continues defying expections and beating them at their own game.
