It may well be that the simple fact that there is a place prepared where you can go and easily fall asleep will quell the fear that might be keeping you awake in the first place, and let you fall back to sleep quickly where you are. If not, well, there *is* a place to go ....
Ok; so the 10-second line becomes an endline. The defense knocks the ball away and it crosses this endline. Who gets possession? The other team, of course, just like it would for the other three out-of-bounds lines.
If gas prices are high because of limited refinery capacity, why don't marketplace forces lead to new capacity being built? I understand that the existing refiners might like the status quo, but what keeps new guys from jumping in to get a piece?
It is, of course, also fascinating that nobody has broken the 2 double-plays in an inning barrier, either, even though double plays are clearly so much easier to make.
I agree with player00's sentiments, but I want to respond to the smarmy editorial comment introducing this video clip: "is that *his* signature?". When Olbermann first used Murrow's signoff, he paid homage to the originator and humbly admitted that he might fall short of that standard. But to me, he has clearly demonstrated his worthiness to carry on that man's tradition, and deserves the implied mantle. -- Rob
I almost always agree with you, Tim, but not this time. Pointing out differences between you and your opponent seems fair in general, and becomes a problem only when it crosses some, admittedly vague, line. A lot of what is said about Hillary Clinton seems over that line, and that is my interpretation of Obama's comment about her. His comments about Edwards don't appear to me to go that far.
Is it possible that by the time the checks arrived people looked at the amount, then at the tens of thousands of dollars their house values had fallen, the price of gas, the enormous credit card debt they had amassed, and said 'the hell with it' and went to the mall?
I won't try to say it better (or even as well as) the previous commenters, but I feel compelled to add my voice to the cacophony of praise being heaped on HtWW. It is my favorite column, period; blog, newspaper, whatever. I am delighted that Andrew enjoys his job. It is fair and just that there are so many who enjoy the job he does.
