Thank you Taliesan
[Read the article: Queen Hillary's disruptive court]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This whole article has about as much depth as your average kiddy pool. There was no analysis of Hillary's positions, simply a lot of babble about how poorly she delivered them.
There was no focus to it, there was just the usual Paglia bashing of anyone who actually votes Democrat because, you know, they support Democratic policies.
So long as America is going to be more concerned with whether its president is nice then whether its president has the ability to rule, you are going to end up with Bushs, Reagans and other assorted idiots running the place.
And so long as the Paglia's of the world are out there degrading political debate down to what handbags the political figures own, well you are going to suffer from stupid people ruining your government.
-- Taliesan
Well said. And, I might add, asserting that Senator Dianne Feinstein would make a great Democratic choice has to be one of the most senseless comments I have heard coming from Ms. Paglia's overly sarcastic mouth.
Feinstein has about as much in common with Democratic values as a flask of Maddog has with a fine wine. Just look at the Senator's positions.
I enjoy reading you Camille but I truly wonder where you come up with your ideas.

Ira Glass? A ladie's man??

Love his show, though.

Poor Cary
[Read the article: My wife keeps cheating but we have two kids. Should I leave her?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Seems to me that Cary gets all sorts of cheaters and cheated-on folk in here who write in, asking for advice. I don't envy him and hope he hasn't lost his optimism yet.
To me, this situation seems like a no-brainer: if there is no trust in a relationship, it really isn't much of a relationship. And, speaking from my angle, I'd rather be alone than be in a relationship with someone I don't trust.
The LW's wife is obviously someone who can't be trusted. It troubles me how little remorse she feels and I am equally troubled by the LW's need for vengence, although I can sympathize with his anger. Doesn't justify the actions, though.
Thing is, there are two little kids involved and, like it or not, the LW and his wife are these kids' examples. What kind of an example are they portraying when there is an endless cycle of lying, cheating, anger and revenge? Yikes.
I hope this couple can make an intelligent, mature decision and stop hurting each other and their children.
As to Brightstar: your perpetual anger towards women only creates more situations for you that reinforce your cynicism. I hope you someday find a healthy way to rid yourself of such anger. Then and only then will you attract someone healthy who won't abuse you the way you have obviously been abused.
Good luck to both LW and Brightstar.

@Brightstar
[Read the article: My wife keeps cheating but we have two kids. Should I leave her?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You act like someone who has been mistreated/abused. Your posts are filled with a lot of anger/ranting toward 'society' and 'we feminists.' Dude, you make a lot of assumptions about my actions and of others because your perceptions tell you ALL feminists are man-hating.
Geez, you've created a reality that only divine intervention could tear away.
I didn't get a great man in my life until I started feeling great about men and, more importantly, great about myself. If I encountered someone who disrespected me in some way, I looked at my part in the conflict, made amends where necessary and not take the rest of the drama so personally.
I wish upon you a woman who is so amazing and loving that she will destroy all of your tired stereotypes that you have surrounded yourself with.
But, alas, I fear that won't happen til you change your attitude.

Brightstar....
[Read the article: My wife keeps cheating but we have two kids. Should I leave her?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]There are still a lot of good women here in the States.
But you gotta shed those anger glasses you're wearing in order to see them.

You are quite a piece of work, Brightstar
[Read the article: My wife keeps cheating but we have two kids. Should I leave her?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I thought anger was your main problem but now I see selfishness is a big part of it. Either that or you have the sickest sense of humor I've seen in awhile.
You want free sex, 'at will' without any committment? And laugh at those around who have the misfortune to be unhappy???
You should be rich with access to hookers.
Because, with your attitude, that is the best you'll get in life--hired sex partners and empty cash.
Maybe you should be a mob leader. You have the anger and cold heart for it.

The same as what, Brightstar?
[Read the article: My wife keeps cheating but we have two kids. Should I leave her?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sounds like you want to boink a woman whenever you want, regardless of her boundaries/needs. That said, a hired hooker is your ticket.
There are women out there who will play in bed without a committment (for free) but something tells me that, even if you found one, you'd find something wrong with her and blame her for your unhappiness.
No one wants a partner who does nothing but the blame game.
Hire a hooker, I say. You'll save yourself (and the rest of us) a lot of trouble.
Oh, and btw, I'm 46. Happy. Contented. With a loving partner in my life, awesome friends, etc. You could have the same if lost that bad attitude.

Ha!
[Read the article: Why Machinist's comments are turned off]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I believed you for a moment. Wouldn't have blamed you (or anyone else on Salon) one bit for shutting down readers' comments.
You're right--a lot of complainers in here.
Loved your earlier post on Facebook's change to its 'is' status. Your blog cracked me up!
Thx.
