Original article: How to run good

The Democratic Party is dead - it just doesn't know it yet

I've been a NASCAR fan for 20+ years and have seen it grow into the phenomenon it is today. I'm also a 60 year old woman who happens to be a Democrat.

During the past six years, I frantically worked as everyone did, especially in 2004. And I even took time to mourn Dale Earnhardt, yes he was an example. If you want something badly enough, you get yourself ready and put yourself in the position to take it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but it's all about the work and how to work smart.

The Democrats don't work smart. As I canvassed neighborhoods all over Ohio, W.Va., and PA, I couldn't believe that these people of the heartland were such fans of Bush. I tried using logic, citing statistics, etc., but it was about emotion not reason. Once upon a time, the Democratic Party was about emotion. NASCAR is about emotion and if you remember the 2000 Republican Convention, it could have been produced by NASCAR.

In other words, it doesn't matter WHAT you say but HOW you say it. I don't know whether the Democrats can do that anymore. As I travelled from one local office to another, I often ran into "paid" party workers. We canvassers were doing their walking, their talking, yet next to none (only one in Doylestown, PA) bothered to talk with us. As I listened to their conversations, in most cases they had little or nothing to do with the Party or the Campaign.

No, the Democrats don't work smart any more and "coming close" is not the same as winning. The Republicans are all about emotion, they'd say anything (and they did) to get an emotional response. Yet very little of what they said either made any sense at all or had anything to do with the issues of the day. But they won. They learned their NASCAR lessons well.

Fortunaltely, the country is starting to recovver from Bush fever. Many are just beginning to realize that he was all talk - just talk. And they're mad, especially if they've lost sons and daughters in Iraq. And the ones we don't hear about, who's sons and daughters have been gravely injured and will be affected for a lifetime, aren't saying anything at all.

The Democrats have been about issues and getting the isssues out to the people. The Republicans have been about power and doing anything to lie or steal to get it and keep it which meant getting the people emotionally charged up. While one may be more ethical than the other, we know which one works.

If the Democrats can't put a little emotion in their party, then the death throes will finally be at an end. Don't stoop so low as to lie to the people, but get them worked up over an issue, and the other side won't have a chance because they don't know how to do truth.

Original article: Oscar castrates himself

What? Are we a little envious perhaps?

Anytime I read something so hateful, I automatically think well this one wasn't picked, included, wanted, listened to, or was ignored by the big boys and girls. And so we react by stamping our feet, screaming dirty words, making terrible faces and then breaking down in tears or committing professional suicide.

Sweetie, you ain't never gonna make the big time, and no, they ain't never gonna give two shakes what you say. So have your bitch and find something better to do, because no matter what you say, no matter what you do, NOBODY CARES!!

And no, I didn't read past the first sentence, only glanced at headings to make sure. What a pathetic twit - get a real job 'cause you certainly suck at this one.

It's always the media's fault!

No, I don't think so. Of all the folks in the Administration, Rumsfeld seems to be the most out-of-touch with reality.

Actually, I've gotten my information from returning US Service Men and Women who served in the National Guard, Army, and Marines. The newspaper articles are just skimming the surface of what these young people have experienced and know to be fact.

Perhaps that's why so many of them are coming home, changing their Party affiliation to Democrat and are running for political office, both local, state, and national. One can only hope that a Democratic majority will occur in the House, and if God wills it (He must be getting pretty tired of these pseudo-Christians who are not doing His will) if God wills it, the Democrats will give the Republicans a scare in the Senate.

Of course, this is presuming that the elections won't be fixed again. Let's get those computers working correctly and let's make sure there are enough for each precinct so that everyone who wants to, can vote.

It's a pipe-dream, I know. But this Christian Democrat is praying hard.
