They cheated on her age. I defended the possibility in another post that since Chinese look young for their age.....I stand corrected. Good work!
Plagarism, is that the worst you can come up with?
I love how Repubs try to play manly all the time (I'm related to all-too-many of them so I know) yet flaunt pink-hankie transgressions like this in your face.
"No Lapel Pin!"
"Funny Name!"
"Knew a radical when he was a kid!"
and now....(snare drum roll):
"Plagerism! Um, 20 years ago, but PLAGERISM!"
And as to:
"It's going to become more and more apparent to voters that the experience and knowledge needed to be president is not at the top of the [Democratic] ticket," commented one Republican operative.
OTOH, when Dick Cheney picked himself to be VP, the word was: "gravitas. He has the gravitas Shrub lacks. That's a good thing, see?"
Pointing out such blatant contradictions may even get through a rightie's thick skull, you never know until you try.
parsing, nitpicking, divisive over-analysis, and all the other mental games that keep Republicans in control.
Politics, is sports and war all wrapped into one. Most sports enthuisasts are righties and vice-versa for a reason: they focus on winning, often at all costs, and that means cheating when possible.
So, Dems, liberals, progressives--get together, stop bickering, take off the kid gloves, get behind the party, not the individual, you want to see in the White House, and smack McCain & Co. down!
Yes, true progressives in the WH would be great, but once again internecine fighting threatens to usher in 4-8 more years of the horrible policies of the last 8.
You'd think this would be obvious by now.
Chris Rock said: ".. affirmative action is like being sent to college by the Uncle that molested you..".
Still better I guess than getting molested and having to pay for college. Do pre-law on his dime and go on to get a JD so you can get back at him!
I was not amused by some of HRC's and Bill's actions and statements during and even since the primaries, but it appears they made a decision to look beyond themselves, and once that decision was made she applied all her formidable talents to making that clear.
She could have been acting, but having heard the speech rather than see it, I was utterly convinced by her voice of her sincerity, and quite moved by her sudden selflessness. I do hope she gets a position of power in an Obama administration.
made me like her again, which makes me feel good since I didn't really like not liking her. And I thought Bill was very gracious as well. He's not the great liar he's been made out to be, in fact I think his tells are obvious, but here he seem 100% behind what he said, or least 100% into making it seem so. Either way good on him.
Hey AKA Smith, Klytus, et al....
I joined up here because I've read some really intelligent musings here, from all of you. But these flame wars are tiring and take up space. Since you seem to engage each other so often why don't you find a way to take it out on each other somewhere else, like via email or IM? A little ingenuity should make that a simple task without telling the world your private emails.
Or....be conservative in expressing your own opinions and liberal in reading others'. We all fail there at times but a little effort there may be a win-win for all.
"quite plausibly
What was cut was some sort of preface along the line of "Here's what some are going to say ..."
Completely changes the context."
Oh I'm SURE that was there, especially since you can here them repeating "or, they might say..", "or...", etc. Right.
Noonan says in her column that she meant "the assumptions of the GOP that it's interests=America's interest are done", not McCain's campaign.
Wow, what a shameless piece of BS. I think I truly hate these people for their complete lack of moral compass if nothing else.
First, to those who say Dems should stay away from her private life: she's opened that up by believing others' private choices regarding sexual behavior should be regulated by the State. So tit for tat. But more important than that is that she's being a hypocrite, and exposing that important fact requires that these private things be made public.
The best outcome would be if it caused the Republicans to stop making personal attacks, but that's unlikely. Which brings me to my second point:
To all you liberal hand-wringers, I suggest you try 58 days of all-out, balls-to-the-wall campaigning, debating, mud-slinging, name-calling, and whatever else it takes to put the relatively progressive party in the White House.
This letter about her is eye-opening. It's at:

So you're guided by your emotions, not reason. Go ahead and vote for McCain and Palin. I don't give a flying fck who you are, what you "think," what your opinions are about this race, because you have nothing intelligent to say, and have proven that over and over and over by everything you've written here and elsewhere.
So STFU and go crawl back into the 19th century hole you crawled out of. Obama's going to win and you'll be crying in your soup.
And fellow progressives, learn one thing: don't complain, don't explain. Add to that, don't defend making smart choices, and most of all don't be afraid to hit the righties HARD! This election is about the future of our planet, so get off your duffs and hit back at the lies!
Surprise, surprise. Her worldview is based on lies, her party bathes in lies, what would one expect?
