Sometimes their comments are on the main points, sometimes they are on the fringes. At this point in the politics of the primaries there are few main points not already beaten to death. Respect those writers willing to visit those fringes for subject matter. Sometimes those fringe angles do make all of the difference. You can't know unless you are at least willing to give them some consideration.
I like Oomphy by the way, and expect Michelle might too, it is just onomatopoeic enough to convey meaning beyond the word itself.
The human experience is so very complex that it is way way beyond the power of mere words to express. Yet in generosity or perhaps greed too, some try. Only to have such efforts trashed here by those who wouldn't have the guts to attempt it themselves.
Quite awhile back I put up a web page with just such a list, and for just such a reason. To share the good times we had with my kids that grew up in the 80s with this next generation.
I tried to keep the list limited to those eveyone can watch, without words or scenes that might make anyone uncomfortable.
The list follows here and if folks would like to they can go to my site. My site provides a bit more info and a few handy links for more follow-up of the movies listed.
My favorite sleeper hit? The Last Starfighter.
Ranked from mildest for the youngest to least mild and then movies for early teens
Mildest

I'm not sure if the link worked in my last post. If anyone cares to go to my site for follow-up just search for 50 great clean classic kids movies and go to the bowtieproducts site.
Sorry if there was any confusion.
Our family culture ran to comedy adventure movies. Which put Last Starfighter near the top of the list. As is evident here, each family has a different bias in its viewing preferences.
Then too, as we should all recognize, kids ages 3 through 8 or so have a perspective on movies that can’t really be understood by those of us who have left that age behind. We can only coach from the sidelines.
Before I go to my list of the top 10 sure-fire fun for all movies, let me add one I’ve not seen mentioned. The animated Charlie Brown musical “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” with “ How do they expect me to write a book report, of any quality, in just three days” an introduction to opera not to be missed.
My families top 10 popcorn night films.
The Last Starfighter
Legend
Neverending Story
Flight of Dragons
The Princess Bride
Buckaroo Banzai
My Science Project
Real Genius
Gremlins 2
Tremors
Of course each of my three kids would give you a slightly different list.
If these are the sort of movies that fit your families “culture" you can find a list of these and more anytime by searching for, "50 greatest good clean family movies", where I’ve posted a permanent list on a bowtie products site just to help you out on your trip to the rental store. Your suggestions are also welcome there.
With my 4 year old grandson near by, my wife and I look forward to watching these again. They definitely all benefit by having a young one to share the popcorny stories with.
