Absolutely we can not take her for granted. The more we find out, the scarier it is. She is bright, competent, likable, feisty, but she and McCain will be worse than Bush/Cheney...never thought i would say that.
To Deborah fl....You see, we want the same things. Do you have kids? I do, and it scares me so much to think of Palin and McCain at the top. My issues are not so much because of the tax thing but the others. I don't want my son to maybe be drafted because their first instinct is to fight. Then the social issues....I want my son to be open to all kinds of people and the people I pray he does get get too much exposure to are born again Christians. I'm not being a smart ass, am sincere. I don't think it is right that the gov't tries to legislate morality, that they want to make their personal beliefs into law. I watched my mother die of ALs...don't think its right that the govt would tell her she HAS to suffer. I believe in separation of church and state. We both are sincere, we both want the best for our kids, but we see it so differently. May God help us all.
It is almost comical to hear the continued protests at the alleged sexist manner she is being treated. Did she or anyone on her behalf complain about the buttons being passed out at the Republican convention? Those buttons said Sarah Palin, HOTTEST governor. Not a peep of protest. Just one more area of complete hypocrisy.
The more we find out about this woman's actual actions, the less there is to like. The McCain camp would like us to focus on her personality and looks, her story, that of the average hockey mom who took on big gov't. More and more we see that the image being shoved down our throats is a total falsehood. No wonder the McCain camp is trying to prevent people from knowing the real Sarah Palin.
I really am starting to wonder if Palin is a pathological liar. She lies about little things, big things, all things. Many just are not important; it is like she thinks of something that sounds better, so she reinvents the story. Do you think she is starting to believe these lies? Now that would be scary.
Obama did enough. He could have done better, but he did enough. He appeared Presidential, and to those who had doubts about his grasp of foreign policy issues, those doubts should be laid to rest. In watching 2 separate groups of undecideds, both gave the win to Obama overwhelmingly. He did not need to overwhelm them either. Obama will do better on his next debates. McCain looked angry and I believe his condescending treatment of Obama will backfire.
No one should ever think that Sarah Palin is a regular joe, a hockey mom. She is ambitious and has shown through her history that she will skewer anyone to get to where she wants to go. Make no mistake, she wants the White House and the top of the ticket. She will be extremely scary in either position. Agree wholeheartedly with your analysis, and hope the American people see through her phony concern for the middle class.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been so sick of reading that Palin "cleared the bar", she ""exceeded the low expectations", therefore she won. Has anybody not noticed that she has no depth about any of these issues? Her understanding seems limited to memorizing her talking points. This is based not on one interview, but on everything she says and does. You can go back to her debates in Alaska. Palin appears to be a nice (i think that could be debatable too, maybe nice like a shark) woman who did a reasonable job as governor. The issues she dealt with were limited and she appears to have spent her entire life not all that interested about what is happening outside of her world. And they want her to be a heartbeat from the presidency. I am aghast at this possibility. Surely there are some Republicans that actually care if their candidate has any qualifications whatsoever for the job??? I thought country first was their whole point. Clearly, it is not. How pathetic, but mostly, how scary.
What has happened to John McCain? Has he completely lost it? I am starting to have serious concerns about his thinking ability...is it possible senility is beginning? Or does he just want this election way too much? Either way, it is very sad to see a man who used to command respect sink to such despicable lows?
