lost....

Thanks Glenn for your passion and dedication to this explosive issue.

It wasn’t always so. I was lucky enough to be in Jerusalem back in the 80’s. As an American, I had the sense that I was welcomed by both sides, Palestinian and Israeli. I was able to visit the old Temple mount area and was welcomed into both mosques as a visitor. I was asked to Passover at the Wailing Wall, as well as invited to the home of a Palestinian who had sold me some mementos in the market.

One event sticks in my mind. I was on the hill outside the city where Jesus had predicted the fall of the temple. There were tourist busses there… surround by young Palestinians trying to sell whatever to the tourists visiting the area. An older Arab man, dressed in a traditional manner, who was there with some camels, struck up a conversation with me. We were talking when another man came up to us dressed in western style to see what we were talking about. The Palestinian said to me in an exaggerated grand manner, “Ah… here is my friend!” We all three laughed as I got the message. Just then as the busses pulled out the group of young men began to run together trying to grab something. It wasn’t clear what was going on, but the intensity and collective manner of the moment was striking. I said to the two older men with me. “Look at that. Doesn’t that strike you as something dangerous? Shouldn’t you be thinking about giving these people something to do? Like real jobs or school?” Then I was surprised, as BOTH of them laughed and said something to the effect… Ah they are just stupid kids. Remember this was before the first intifada.

I guess what I am driving at is that it seems to me there was an important moment in History that slipped away. I don’t claim to know exactly just who was to blame and to what degree. I’m sure there are many passionate opinions on both sides about that. However it seems to me that we need to try to turn back the clock to where the US was perceived as the impartial broker, or at least viewed as if leaning to the Israeli side… fair.

Original article: Ask the pilot

Me thinks

The pilot doth protest too much...

"I don't know. Maybe you're right. Maybe I'm being too grouchy."

Yes... you are.

Firebombing

An incredible animated film about the firebombing of Tokyo and the effect it has on a young brother and sister is called 'Grave of the Fireflies'. I highly recommend.

I'd bet j & j is a republican.

I'd bet j & j is racist.

A TRUE Clinton supporter? Don't think so...

Go back to your hole troll. Stop lowering the level here.

heru-ur-AKKnammu

Fine you piece of work.

(Actually proper usage would be, "You're a piece of work" or "You really are a piece of work aren't you?" is Kitt a 'piece' of a work?

I read you say the other day that you became physically ill when you saw a post of mine.

(I read you say? Do you? Who say...what?)

I was gladdened because you are the single stupidest poster at UT other than the Zionist bunch.

(So you were glad because she is stupid? Are you still glad? Or did you change your antisemitic mind?)

Over the time I have seen you post; I notice you have nothing to add ever.

(I don't even want to touch this one. ';' ?)

Simply attacks on others.

(Again... learn English dude.)

You also are a lefty-shooter.

(So your right eye is black?)

By this I mean that you project your half-arsed notions without any factual basis other than in your own mind.

(Whew... thank god Kitt isn't using your mind! I think therefore I blather?)

Even though I am against all drug laws; I would not mind seeing on drug pusher go off to jail for his crimes.

(This sounds like a drop the soap prison scenario.)

Little Kitty.

(Now you did it! By the way... where are you from? What country? So we can all talk shit about you. Kitt... I know you don't need my help... but this guy is irritating.)

@stinky

If Schrödinger threw the cat off the tower it would fall down and up.

Right

I don't think that the other side is really concerned with 'truth' as an absolute. Which is why the stinkmeister can spew forth such a stream of logical fallacies with such glee.

What is important to them is to win their political position irregardless of evidence, fact or reason. This is the very antithesis of scientific method. We are witnessing the death of the last vestiges of superstition. Religion used to supposedly be a representation of the search for truth. Now they are the defenders of ignorance.

stinky...

I want what you're smoking.

You're a hologram aren't you?

We're all holograms...

Doesn't mean Mr Chimps ain't my cousin.

impoundments???

@notreallyhonestintheleast

Where's the legality? We all KNOW what it means.

Even worse it was a journalist who had his property seized. Ever hear of a little constitutional protection called Freedom of the Press? Can you honestly say the information the reporter had constituted some kind of National Security Issue? More likely it was a National Embarrassment Issue.

Next time you accidentally walk on my lawn, can I impound your shoes? If I wear a Brown Shirt, can I do what I like to you? Anything at all?
