I heard the show also and it didn't seem she was joking when she mentioned her ignorance about the Cuban missile crisis. Although she doesn't need to be a historian to qualify for her job, one would hope that a minimum of knowledge about the events that have shaped American history would be required.... but wait wait! we are talking about the Bush administration... never mind!

I am glad Tim has included this little anecdote in today's stories, it definitely fits her profile.

....from the show was when she told the hosts that her husband complains to her when she talks to him in "her White House voice"....

Come on Joan! you are an intelligent, educated person, who can definitely understand what Axelrod meant to say. Why do you have to spin it in the wrong way? Of course the war in Iraq distracted the US from the war in Afghanistan and definitely that has caused much of the unrest in the region, including Pakistan. So, that war has caused, unfortunately, Bhutto's death. so, there you have it, that's all. and yes, HRC voted for that war, but stretching it to the point of saying that she is responsible for Bhutto's death is just ridiculous! it definitely looks like some kind of logic from FOX news.

    this is from your post:

"But it looks like Clinton's well of strength comes from fearful, non-college-educated, poorer, older, not full-time-employed (maybe retired?) women who identify as slightly liberal, moderate, and conservative. That feels like a sympathy vote to me, perhaps a reaction to the past few days."

my theory is somewhat similar: working women a little younger know that crying in the workplace is a cardinal sin, after that nobody will take you seriously, therefore for those younger women, Hillary's little crying game may have turned them off (like it did to me, but unfortunately I couldn't vote). However, for older women who might not know too well the atmosphere of the workplace, the crying is a cute thing, and so they gave her the sympathy vote.

I'm a 100% with you! and I am also a college-educated woman, who is soooo tired of this "if you are a feminist, then you have to support a woman".... it's just a ridiculous assumption!

this just shows once again that HRC is willing to do whatever it takes to get the nomination, including twisting and bending the rules to her advantage. And also she didn't express such interest in Florida voting rights when the DNC initially penalized the state, why now? why only when it is convenient to her? All these is too fishy and dishonest.
