@ Pyrian
[Read the article: There's always Nixon]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Still trying to find a source for that specific portion of his pre 2000 election rambling. There is a New York Newsday articel floating around from 11/01/2000 that talks of his campaign's plans for a popular uprising/legal action if he were to win the popular vote and lose the electoral.
Wish I could back that up more, but I very distinctly rememeber the press conference when he was asked about that pledge to not accept if he won the electoral but lost the popular. I'm going to keep at it.
Also, around the same time I remember footage being shown of him eating dinner with his family and having wine with the meal, but these kind of details are tough to get without access to something like Lexis Nexis.
Oh well.

We are doomed
[Read the article: Rudy Giuliani, unscripted]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The first commitment that I make is I will keep America on offense against terrorism.
Considering that our current "offense" against terrorism focuses on quagmire-tastic engagements in foreign lands at debilitating costs both human and financial, this does not please me.
Notice he did not say "put America on offense" or "Find away to protect America". He said keep America on offense. He has openly declared his plan to keep on keeping on in the great Bush/Cheney tradition.
That being said, shouldn't he have spent a moment in his talking about oh so important ideas to discuss the form that his offense would take? The speech that we see here would be fine if his commitment was "To identify terrorist threats" but it was not the identification he was talking about.

Um . . .
[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm just trying to figure out what that preposterous prediction was based on. What did he use to back this up, and who was drunk enough at the time to think he made any sense when saying it.

Too Little Too Late
[Read the article: Majority of Americans favor Cheney impeachment]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Do people realize how long stonewalled impeachment proceedings can take? Never mind the fact that we would need to impeach Cheney before we impeached Bush, which means that Bush will be around to pardon the entire filthy batch of swine and whorehoppers responsible for the death of the American Dream.
We could have done something a year or two ago. Now we have allowed the criminals to set so much precedent in their own favor that we truly may never be rid of them.
Every single person who supports the impeachment of these lunatics need to focus that anger resentment and sense of betrayal towards a far more important issue.
The United States needs international oversight and auditing of our 2008 elections. Not only that, we need to start pressing our legislators for provisions to be made that prevent the indefinite suspension of general elections regardless of national state of emergency. The swine are digging in for the long haul. They just about have the presidency/vice-presidency the way they want it (omnipotent) and they are not about to hand that off to anyone that they do not approve of 100%.
It would be a nice world to live in where the threat of impeachment stops the felons in chief from sending more kids to die Iran, but it does nothing of the kind. If these rabid badger/troll hibrids that have infested the upper echelons of American government feel like they are trapped, they will lash out with claws and fangs springing from apendages and orifices we didn't even know they had!
Picture Dick Cheney stripping to a gold spandex speedo on the floor of the Senate, grabbing senators by the balls and rubbing his armpit in their faces, all while George snorts an 8-Ball off of Karl Rove's ass and declares a National State of Emergency because a bunch of fundamentalist hoopleheads from Bush's Texas shit-kicking days "decided" to slap on some brownface and car bomb the Holocaust Memorial Museum.
I approve of impeachment as well, but it is a quaint and obsolete custom. The Idiot Child-Emperor has the power to suspend all non-essential congressional operations whenever he sees fit.
Main stream media had better start discussing how sick we, as a nation, are. We are in bigger trouble than most people are able to fathom.
I am starting to believe that the best thing that could happen for this country is to have the executive branch order attacks on Iran. I think the military would finally be pushed to the point of a military coup. I do not crave this notion, but I truly believe that brutal deadly force is the only thing that our leaders understand.

Shocked! Yes Shocked I Am!
[Read the article: The real reason for the Libby commutation?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You mean to say the ugly spectre of partisan politcs, personal ass-covering and deepseated corruption played into the Idiot Child-Emperor's decision.
My heart weeps.
In the meantime, since W has publicly acknowledged that Libby did indeed lie and obstruct Justice, I am looking very forward to the steps he will be taking to correct the lies and ensure that Justice is served in this whole CIA leak case.
Considering how important good intelligence is to concientious fighting of the War on Terror, I am confident that correct Libby's wrongs is tops on the Idiot Child-Emperor's To-Do list!
