geez, Joan ...

I know you have to pay attention to Dowd and B-lister Vennochi, but given their past writings, maybe you should examine that necessity. Dowd epitomizes everything wrong with political writing, and I don't care how many times she bashes the current idiot, her destruction of Al "Practically Lactating" Gore in 2000 was unforgivable. Permit me some terrible sexism, because she deserves it: find a yourself a man, Mo ... maybe quit putting out on the first date anbd you'll lose the stink of desperation.

oh boy - another sternly worded letter

Pathetic. I just wonder what color drapes Judith will choose for the White House?

depressing as hell

This is 'who do you want to have a beer with.' This is some jackass buying a 'ranch' as a campaign prop. This is a haircut. This is the press obsessing. But worst of all ... this is a bunch of Salon readers giving a shit. 9-11 sure made us all serious all right. That was bullshit by 5 pm that day and it's a huge stinking pile by now. "Clinton's Laugh: Phony?" "Iraq War Toll Nears 4,000." I'd say the headlines weren't equal -- IF THE SECOND ONE ACTUALLY EXISTED.

Original article: James Dobson's Rudy problem

As the suckers would say ...

Let us pray. Although I suspect Rudy will convert at some point, renounce (yeah right) his sinful past and allow these phony hucksters to tell their 'flock' it's okay to vote for him. The only thing they worship is power. Well, that and money.

Dianne Feinstein??

Geezus, Camille ... give us a break. As reported in this very magazine, she "Voted in FAVOR of funding the Iraq War without conditions; Voted in FAVOR of the Bush White House's FISA bill to drastically expand warrantless eavesdropping powers; Voted in FAVOR of condemning MoveOn.org; Cast the deciding vote in August on the Senate Judiciary Committee in FAVOR of the nomination of far right Bush nominee Leslie Southwick to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2006, Feinstein not only voted in favor of extending the Patriot Act without any of the critical safeguards sought by Sen. Feingold, among others, but she was one of the most outspoken Democratic proponents arguing for its extension ("I have never been in favor of allowing any provisions of the Patriot Act to expire."). Also in 2006, she not only voted in favor of amending the Constitution to outlaw flag burning, but was, as she proudly described herself, "the main Democratic sponsor of this amendment." You are the smartest idiot we've ever encountered.

absolutely

Tragic as hell. I'll never get over that 2000 election and if the country ever does, it will be a long time coming.

Gwynn

Of course, Tony Gwynn, adding that great expertise, said, "Well, the Rockies might not be outlaying the D-backs, but they are out-executing them." Playing, executing ... obviously different. Doesn't ANY producer somewhere have the juice to tell these ex-players they have to make sense?

Gwynn

I meant outPLAYing.

oh no -- 'comfortable in his own skin'

Well, the Democrats are doomed. Once the media makes this particular pronouncement, all else -- Rudy's neo-neocon whack-job advisors, his all-I-need-is-a-balcony-and-a-uniform personality -- means nothing. Was that big liar Gore comfortable in his own skin? No! Was Bush? Of course -- and HE'S President!

Original article: How Hillary could tank

yeah, people hate Bill Clinton

That 65 percent approval he left office with, and still has; the fact that he would have crushed The Idiot in 2000; the fact that he would crush any of the GOP clown-car brigade even worse this time. The only people who care about these supposed 'soap operas' are the media types who think anyone else gives a shit. A whole lot of people would want to see Bill Clinton travel the world and undo some of the catastrophic damage to our country's standing done by the guy the press helped 'elect.' And I say this all as no fan of Hillary.

believe it when I see it

These religioso charlatans are just trying to wring some promises out of Rudy, which he has already/will again come across with, so they can pronounce him 'redeemed' or whatever the hell. Like appointing more Alitos and Scalias, as he said yesterday. These creeps are like dogs chasing a car (not to offend any dogs out there) and if they ever catch it -- "it" being their various and supposed wishes for a theocracy -- they couldn't keep bleeding the hicks for cash, and some of them might have to get real jobs. If they think Rudy can win, they'll make sure their sheep trundle into the church vans next November. This might even help Giuliani among people who should know better, too many of whom apparently think he's a 'different' kind of Republican.

to Martin Blank:

Yes, absolutely ... slow-motion train wreck is right on the money. I've been calling it a slow-motion nightmare; same thing! All the pieces are slowly falling into place ... and man, is the day after the 2008 election going to suck.

Sunday, October 28, 2007 07:48 PM

God help this country

If one of these jokers replaces the Current Idiot. That's really all anyone can say. Well, except the media types who keep taking them seriously and soft-pedaling their insanity ... Walter.

Sunday, October 28, 2007 08:22 PM

I was too harsh

I know you have to take them seriously; they want to be President. And you did slam them. I just wish you could really lay it on. People like this either believe what they are saying ... in which case they are soulless slime creatures; or they don't, in which case they are pandering soulless slime creatures with toxic ambition.

Schilling: "school districts"

This is why Curt is such an insufferable blowhard, at least to me. Of course, the main reason is that he loves Bush, as most multi-multi-millionaires who think Iraq did 9/11 do, but I digress. "School districts" ... yeah, Curt, you have to worry about the kind of neighborhood you'll be able to afford on about $96,000 PER WEEK, if you sign for the paltry sum of $5 million a year. This is right up there with the 'I have to do what's best for my family' guys, when they turn down $8 million to sign for nine.
