That asshole plays the moderate when he has to, yet voted with Bush down the line for the past eight years. I hope my state has enough brains to kick this fossil to the curb in two years. I would have barred his entrance to the festivities. Obama has more class than I, however. I hope it doesn't bite him in the ass because the world knows the GOP is incapable of acting in good faith.
Still exists. The man seems exceptional in so many ways ... I hope he is. Unless events conspire against him, he can bring our country back, and it's good to see that most of the country is willing to give him time. It's possible that reporting on it will seem like cheerleading but so be it, if his Administration is succeeding, let it be told. Nothing will ever convince the 30-percenters, and let them wallow.
We're begging you ... go away, leave, give it up ... save yourself. You are a loser. Your party's 'philosophy' is and always has been a sad joke.
Good news and good actions deserve coverage and praise. The Elephantmen still loose in the country can go scratch. They have nothing; they are whining, beaten, soulless examples of conservaticus patheticus. Extinction beckons.
Yes. It blows.
I wish Sullenberger and Skiles had been able to swear in Obama ... they would have avoided Roberts' profoundly unfortunate "Who's on First" routine, an epic fold under a lot less pressure. And Mr. Smith, the press is gonna do what it's gonna do. I'm glad you called them out but it's a losing battle.
Camille is 'waiting for the science to come in.' I hope to hell this thing can be addressed but as long as there is a GOP and a clueless media, it's not looking good.
Are you still here? Aren't you embarrassed by ... well, everything? Your party is a sad joke (on the rest of us), your whining and carping and bed-wetting are annoying and creepy, and you're completely without relevance. Alito is a petulant child who actually crosses the street to avoid Democratic Senators who voted against him ... and his 'philosophy' belings in the 19th century. No wonder you cite his opinion. I prefer Ginsburg's dissent, paraphrasing here: Republicans are hateful slimebuckets who don't give a shit about anything but power and money. At least you still have money. Sarah 2012!
Tom, I know very few people do, but have you actualy READ RedState? Seen their "Strike Force," complete with military logo, and their plans to send rubber balls ... you know, "balls" ... to members of Congress who displease them by not "standing up" to Democrats? Influential? To whom? People with Free Republic and Little Green Footballs on their bookmarks?
Even GOP governors, even the crooked, shallow and stupid ones like her, know they need money to govern. And they favor the stimulus. Ideologues like the House GOP fools just care about their next election. Obama's gonna take shit for 6-10-18 months, and then, when the economy comes back as it always does under Democratic rule, the GOP will lose even more seats in 2010, and he'll get 60 percent over Sarah (or whatever ridiculous sacrificial lamb the Republicans cough up) in 2012. Have your fun now. As for approval ratings: way to ignore the 70s and 75s in favor of that Rasmussen 66. And yeah, Carter. Relevant how? I'll see your Carter and raise you two Hoovers and a Bush.
Toward the end there? Geez, men are pigs. I am one and I know, but I hate myself more now.
California is a sad joke not because of the unions (my God, don't you wingers EVER give that one up?) but because of the absurd 3/5 rule on tax hikes and the inflexibility of the "governor" who replaced that awful Gray Davis. You remember Davis? The one who left an $8 billion deficit that Steroid Man has pumped up to $40 billion? Blame the late-70s 'tax revolt' for the state of that state. You know -- accept reality.
She could have wowed the true believers with more policy genius like this, from the campaign trail: "That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, we’re ill about this position that we have been put in. Where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh, it’s got to be about job creation, too. Shoring up our economy, and putting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade — we have got to see trade as opportunity, not as, uh, competitive, um, scary thing, but one in five jobs created in the trade sector today. We’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation.”
The commenters here dropped in from Free Republic. My God, is there any sound more tinny than a wingnut whining? Take a look at Obama's 75 percent approval ratings in three different polls this week and get back to us on his "crashing." Any of you losers check the job-loss graph on the Bush Depression we're in as opposed to the garden-variety recessions of past years? By all means, no need for government spending now with all that economic activity going on! You people are just amazing in your bitterness and ignorance. I LOVE IT!!! Your heads will be exploding by 2010 when the economy comes back and the soulless GOP minions lose even more seats. But hey -- Sarah For Sacrificial Lamb 2012! PS to Camille: you gotta be putting us on and having a huge laugh. NO ONE could spout the nonsense you do, on any and all subjects.
