[Read the article: Dead party walking]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You mustn't say that. It indicates your basic sexism (see 'Juliebird' above). We must all think nice thoughts; like this isn't the United States in 2008, and that 59 million people didn't vote for Bush in 2004, and that half the country doesn't hate Hillary Clinton.

Petey" 'why the hate'?
[Read the article: Chris Matthews' Giuliani delusion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Well, maybe because Rudy is an epic, lying, self-promoting sleazebag lunatic? And Matthews is .. well, the same?

I'm no HRC fan, but ...
[Read the article: Pulling out the big guns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You have to be some Naderian nitwit to think she is ANYTHING like Saint John the Good. For God's sake ... I hope Obama is our nominee and think Hillary stands an excellent chance of losing to that phony, fossilized sack of shit in the fall, but really. Judges, anyone? Choice? Health care?

this is good ... right?
[Read the article: Young voters are stoked]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]But the fact that the "Berkeley College Republicans" can even exist bums me out. And the Hillary girl: "30 years trumps three." Yes, picking those White House china patterns goes a long way on Presidential qualifications. Did the young man intoning the need for America to 'stick it out' in Iraq have any plans to enlist?

Hey - Elephantman and Bunch of Cool Symbols:
[Read the article: Young voters are stoked]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Nice strawman you got there! I'll speak slowly -- Cal GOP types have a perfect legal right to exist. They're just idiots, like you two. Never said they should be expelled, killed, whatever. So kiss our asses, have a nice day, and say hello to you fellow 30-percenters.

'would vote Obama if he was white'?
[Read the article: Maria Shriver endorses Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And if Hillary's last name was Smith, and she wasn't the wife of a former President, would she even be considered? If yes ... then why not Boxer? Feinstein? Patty Murray? All women, all Senators. Give us a break.

Want the Democrat to win in the fall?
[Read the article: Undecided '08: Should I vote for Clinton or Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Then vote for Obama. Why the angst?

horse goes before cart
[Read the article: The qualms before the storm]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]In the fall, HRC or Obama would win 90 percent of Democrats. McCain, 90 percent of Republicans. Obama, 60 percent of independents. Hillary, 35 percent of them. That is the only thing that matters to me right now. The GOP simply MUST be defeated for the good of the nation and the world. And Hillary Clinton has no shot. Half the country hates her, and nothing she can say, do or fake will change that, even "getting up every morning thinking how I can change prople's lives" (gag).
-
A: Obama
[Read the article: Which Democrat can beat McCain?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Spin for Hillary any harder and you'll strike oil, Joan. It's possible she can beat the old man, but why risk it? Independents hate her; we all know it; most of us admit it. And white Democratic guys are even voting for a black man over her. The stars are aligned for the good guys, so I'm pretty sure we'll screw it up and go over the cliff with Ms. Warmth.

What Greg in FL said
[Read the article: Which Democrat can beat McCain?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Half the country HATES Hillary Clinton. Why oh why don't her supporters admit it? Anecdotal evidence is nonsense ... until it's repeated thousands of times, and then it becomes data. I defy anyone to compare the number of times they have heard "I can accept Obama but not Clinton" as opposed to the reverse. Both she and he would win 90 percent of Democrats, and McCain 90 percent of the Republicans. Who gets most of the 15-20 percent left over, against Saint McCain no less? Hillary Clinton? Please. And don't tell me the "issues" favor Democrats. Of course they do. They always do. Has it mattered? People vote for President on who they "like" more. End of story.

Dear Cythera:
[Read the article: CNN: Obama sweeps Democratic contests]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Come on. Just stop. Caucuses don't count? The THOUSANDS OF VOTERS flooding to them and breaking 65-35 for Obama aren't real Americans? What the hell is your point? Also, see Louisiana tonight. And what will you say when Obama gets 58-60 percent in Maryland and Virginia on Tuesday? Hillary is a fine woman ... I don't think she can win ... that said, the excuses for her losing state after state are just becoming pathetic. She has 100 percent name recognition AROUND THE WORLD ... started 40 points ahead all over the country ... more money than God ... but yeah, 'caucuses' are to blame. Please.

[Read the article: Obama wins Maine caucuses]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Undoubtedly. Now, Hillary in a tank? That would garner instant and deep respect among Republicans. Come on ... get a grip. Stick to "caucuses don't count." Same as the nine primaries Obama has won; which will be 12 by Tuesday night. Hillary would make a fine President; I despise the GOP; but I don't think she could win because half the country hates her. And I have no desire for a return of the Clinton Circus, or the same two families in the White House for 28 years. And yes I know the differences, believe me. It's just kind of disappointing that Hillary supporters seem to actually believe this series of crushing defeats is all due to too many blacks, too many yuppies, unfair rules, etc., etc. This entire primary/caucus schedule was set up to have her clinch by now. She had nationwide 40-point poll leads ... more money than Fort Knox ... and the entire Democratic establishment behind her. So please, despise the annoying tendencies of some Obama fans, accept the reality of the struggle.

NY Amiga:
[Read the article: How will it all end?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Give us a break with 'the kids.' Obama is crushing Clinton by 15-20-30 points all over the country, and simple arithmetic shows it's more than unemployed teenagers coming out for him. And as for your 'red states will vote GOP in the fall,' no kidding. Hillary's blue states will vote Democratic, so what's your point? Anyone on our side can win New York and California and Massachusetts in a general election, for God's sake. The real point is this -- the kind of voters Obama gets in those red states ALSO live in swing states like Pennsylvania, Missouri, Virginia and Colorado. If he gets them in those states, we win them, and the election, with ease. Hillary will NEVER attract such voters; their dislike for her is visceral. I don't understand it, but it does exist, and to deny that half the country hates this woman is simply to deny reality.

Don't sweat it, Gary
[Read the article: McCain apes Bush on Iraq, as Dems stand passively by]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama questions the very premise that strength means willingness to bomb people. Hillary? Well, such a thing would show 'weakness.' Once Obama presses that point and links the $500 million per week we waste over there with the crap econony, there's not much McCain can do.
