McCain's decision to make Palin his VP was both brillant and stupid at the same time. The publicity his party got for Palin was almost equal to a rock star (though I still think Obama could fill up the Grand Canyon with people if he wanted). However, McCain is in her shadow now. It feels like she is running for president. It's not hard to believe that McCain is desperate to become president. The man has been trying for years and his choice of Palin is proof of that. But that last decision looks like it might come to bite him in the ass. People are fired up for her, not him. Once again, he comes in second place. I see the Daily Show montages now. Palin in the spotlight while McCain is all by himself.
And I remember people were complaining about all of the coverage on Obama! Sheesh! Talk about hypocritical. I will be very glad when her family, the first dude (Agh, I want to vomit whenever I hear that. That title doesn't sound cool at all.), and herself fades back into the shadows. Doesn't matter how much press coverage she has, Obama still has my vote. Besides, the more press coverage that comes out, the more the woman looks like an idiot.
I was starting to get irritated with all of the Sarah Palin articles, but I think I mind it less now. The woman just continues to demonstrate her miscommunication and inconsistency with information when exposed to the media. Not only is she a liar, she is just showing herself as a moron now. I would think that a candidate for the VP of the US would be at the top of their game at this moment in time. Palin is miles and miles away from that (the funny thing is, it has nothing to do with her family, she is showing stupidity all by herself. Congrats, Sarah!). Sorry GOP, my vote is already set.
Oh course, Sarah Palin will save us all. Her ideas are all genius. Just look at her bridge to nowhere! Oh wait...
It was satisfying to see Campbell Brown address sexism connected to Palin though the rant was flawed. On the other hand, the pit bull with lipstick is sure quiet while on her trip to NYC. I work in NYC and was expecting some kind of major press conference or an address the UN Council or something similar. But all I hear are the usual traffic noises and crowds of beloved and ever active NYC. I'm really surprised that a city and world leaders could shut her up. Must be culture shock to see so many people in such a giant city with no wolves to kill. Too bad it's temporary. As soon as she gets back to small towns, she'll be loud as hell as again. Typical.
The pitbull with the lipstick and outdated hairdo is a delicate flower we must protect from the horrible gargoyles of the international media! GASP! Don't worry, Sir McCain will protect his princess! And to think she could be president when McCain croaks out. Honestly, we really didn't get too much out of the only two televised interviews she has ever done (except what she doesn't know). Her life is more controlled than control top pantyhose. I can only imagine what comes out of her mouth if she is alone, a microphone is left on, and she doesn't think she's on camera. Such "protection" like McCain and his aide did, doesn't come off so well. Actually it comes off rather weak and pathetic. It's only a matter of time before she has to face the press, people who are not hockey moms (sorry, soccer moms rule), and people who don't go to her rallies.
I was looking forward to that debate this week. At least Obama can multi-task between his duties and campaigning. Why does McCain feel the need to do a press conference every time he is getting ready to do a task? Just go to work, please.
It is so close to election time and there still hasn't been a national debate yet. Let the debates roll! I would like to see both candidates duke it out and with a crisis on hand, it's even more important that we get clear answers from them as well. Delaying and hiding doesn't help us when we need them the most.
@mkburr: You got checkmate with those few paragraphs. ::Claps::
How I love thee. Let me count the ways. Obama's response was excellent, clear, and the man is clearly ready to rock the debates. His public speaking puts McCain and Palin (agh! that accent!) to shame. And best of all, he's not a coward that goes into hiding when a crisis is upon all of us (especially those of us who don't know what the hell is going on). I am very much looking forward to the debates now. I hope that the Old Goat and his Pit Bull with lipstick on a leash have the balls to show up to the challenge. Bring it on!
