@Nathan Coker

So many guys are upset that their hippie girlfriends don't shave their armpits, so they re-direct their rage at Sarah Palin, the antithesis of a liberal woman.

Sorry boys, the closest you'll ever get is your fake Palin porn.

-- Nathan Coker

Speak for yourself, hotshot. I'm a liberal gal and except for my head, I'm pretty hairless. I love how conservative men associate ugly women with liberalism. Oh yeah, I really want to masterbate to bug-eyed Michelle Bachmann (gross). Like all conservative women are beauty queens, indeed. This is so superficial, but I'll toot my own horn for the beautiful liberal ladies. There are plenty of us around, but you choose to think of those women as conservative because of our beauty. Try talk to women to see their political sides instead of judging on looks. By the way, Lisa Ann, the pornstar who plays Sarah Palin in the porn movies, is so much prettier than Sarah Palin.

Paranoia and all

I love horror movies, but I agree that the media coverage over the H1N1 flu has become pretty scary. I ran from two people who sneezed while walking the streets of NYC to work because my paranoia was working (agh,I know and I felt ashamed) and I stepped out of a train cart because a few people sneezed on the same train. Anyone who sneezes on a subway train definitely gets both odd and dirty looks and I've seen people try to quiet their sneezing and coughing enough to where no one can hear them in public. So Paranoia is working it's way into the culture like wildfire. Surprisingly, horror movies like the ones mentioned in Stephanie's article and on the Gawker website (they too listed a number of movies depicting plagues on humanity) kinda relaxes me. It's similar to my Law and Order addiction where if something requires investigation, I go into "Law and Order" mode like the detectives and retrace everything step by step. That survival horror movie mode reactivates for me and I start to prepare for the worse (wash hands, stay away from crowded areas with no ventilation, etc.) and hope to God everyone else is heeding warnings.

As far as the movies go, I too have to add Cronenburg's Rabid to that list. It seems like it would qualify as well. I think I would also add Cronenburg's Shivers to that list too. The plague there is sexual in nature and it turns everyone into raping maniacs (yup, the raping plague is spread through sex. Sound familiar?). All of Romero's Dead movies are perfect for the subject matter, especially Land of the Dead where classism takes on a major role and can easily be applied today. I would also add the movie, The Signal, and Stephen King's the Cell. Both movie and book, open the possibility that mankind is simple-minded enough that we can be reset with a particular sensory element and transformed back into our primitive origins. I think that can easily be applied to today as well (Media).

No

I'm sorry, but I can't sympathize with hypocritical bigot who preaches to a specific group of people while her own life has proved to be less than shining example of what marriage (divorced, homophobic parents) and religious behavior (lingerie pics at 17) should be. Her actions speak louder than words and she does not represent me as a woman. She should know better.

If wingnuts are so for science...

then I'd like to hear how they feel about evolution. Otherwise, denial and another failed attempt. You still don't win me over, Wingnut.

Ew!

"The most impressive thing about Lopez's purity proscription, though, is that it reveals a straightforward illustration of abstinence advocates' true female ideal: a virginal, prepubescent girl."

It looks that way to me as well. Sick pedophiles.

Just don't sell it.

The Tiller family and the business don't have to sell it. It's theirs and thus, it's their choice (ah! notice the word play!) when it comes to deciding what to do with it. I honestly think the family felt what many others, including me, have felt when hearing this news: Disgust. If they do sell it, I hope it's to a more appropriate person and/or organization like NARAL, etc. It's a better choice (word play again!)anyway for Dr. Tiller's memory.

Yup, it right-wing domestic terrorism

Homegrown and in action. And Republicans thought that memo from Homeland Security regarding these quacks was out of line. Suck it, wingnuts.

What plan?

"House Republicans presented a four-page outline of their health care reform plan Wednesday but said they didn’t know yet how much it would cost, how they would pay for it and how many of the nearly 50 million Americans without insurance would be covered by it."

Um...that's a plan? My own health insurance is less complicated.
