Huh?

Sigh...she really, really needs to take Constitutional Law I and II (if she can get past the first part of the course). I'm in agreement with Joan, while saying who a person has voted for might be taboo in some communities, it's hard to see Sarah Palin being a tease about who she actually voted for. Her rallies don't seem to hold anything back so why is she doing this now? Very unlike her pitbull with lipstick character. Also, the idea of her writing herself on the ballot as presidential candidate is priceless. Happy voting everyone!

@bearpaw1

Amen to that.

Need a drink

Agh, I'm not even going to bother with the exit polls. Either I'm going to get really sad or really excited. And I'm too nervous and anxious!

You're not the only one, Dr. Eyeball

I would absolutely love a landslide for Obama, but I know realistically that can't happen. Hey, a girl can dream. I'm trying to stay cool when my nerves are going nuts, especially with the news from Florida! Whoa! Is it possible? Oh lord, I need alcohol and chocolate. Godiva anyone?

Damnit

Well,I guess we can't have everything. Although I think a Bachmann defeat would have been one of the nice cherries on a huge Democratic cake (yummy and lots of diverse favors!). Hopefully, she has learned not to do a repeat of this anti-american fear mongering stuff again since it almost cost her her job. And look at it this way, she'll have to change her messages once she goes back for re-election. In the meantime, enjoy your small piece of humble pie, Ms. Bachmann.

Relief for the mind, body, and soul

Thank you Salon for keeping me sane during this whole election! My brain would have been a pile of mush without you guys! CNN and MSNBC did an awesome job and the best was when they cut to different location as soon as Obama was announced as president elect. Honestly, if people didn't know why everyone was celebrating on the streets, other would have assumed it was New Year's Eve. The crowd just outside the White House was huge! To have that kind of reaction just outside of that area shows how strongly people want Obama in there. It felt like a tidal wave of excitement, joy, and hope. When Jesse Jackson and Oprah cried, the tears just fell. I woke up at 5:30am to vote for Obama and was happy to be one of the first people in live at my voting station. It was completely worth it. My heart is warm and joyous, my brain still absorbing what I just saw last night and calculating the promise of correcting mistakes made by 8 years, my hands are eager to work to make my country better, and my spirit soars high with hope. It was one hell of night I will definitely tell my children in the future. And a giant fuck you to fear, hate, ignorance and to the people who spread the vile stew through people's ears. I hope those people take the high road and learn from their mistakes.

Original article: "Sour loser"

For John Derbyshire

The Republican party and yourself has had eight years of dominance and it landed everyone in the toilet. Only now we are flushing it all down the drain. With all due respect sir: Fuck you.

Original article: Taking our country back

Beautiful

Thank you for the article, Gary. It was moving, beautifully written, and I was very close to tears (even though I thought I cried myself out almost completely last night. It's remarkable what can happen in 24 hours. I'm still absorbing it all. The world feels different. Not a bad type of different, but almost surreal in the "I can't believe what happened" type of different. Make no mistake, it's going to take time and hard work to fix the giant problems facing us all. But I'm eager to help and work with others to make this country a better place. Obama has inspired me to do that.

As for Bellatrix LeStrange, two words: sore loser. I won't be part of your bitterness.

Poor, poor Levi

I feel sorry for Levi. Now he's stuck with a batshit insane mother-in-law.

-- m. nuckolls

BAHAHAHA! M. Nuckolls, you almost made me spit out my hot chocolate! Indeed, the Palin family is heading back to crazy Alaska, where convicted felons get voted back into the Senate. Which is fine by me. I'm glad we are moving on and away from Sarah Palin. I wouldn't care if I never heard from her or her "first dude" again. Although, I think she'll be back one way or another unfortunately. Until then, I'm savoring the good fortune unleashed in the last 24 hours. Savor...

Put us in the Cornfield?

"Instead, we vow to wish all anti-Palin Nay-sayers into the Cornfield, where they belong!"

Wait a minute! Aren't pro-Palin Yay-sayers already in the cornfield? I mean, isn't Palin the one who said the "real" America is the smaller, rural towns? While the rest of us in "fake" America is everyone in the suburbs and cities? Talk about having popcorn for brains. Palin supporters can cling on to her as much as they want. The woman is her own worst enemy and every time she opened her mouth, something dumb came out. Seriously, she should go back to work and take classes because her low intelligence (or ignorance even) is going to be mocked for years to come. I am so much happier that we have Harvard educated president elect now.

@Ijon Tichy

I think I'm as dumb as Palin. What exactly is your point besides you don't get a pony? (Too bad for you, I got a Mustang.)

Thursday, November 6, 2008 12:05 PM

Yup, I agree

Ditch the loser.

Bacon

As much as fries are tasty, I've got to side with Bacon. I can use it in a lot of foods and I don't get tired of it. And fries taste really bad when they're cold. Bacon all the way!

Spray tanners?

BWAHAHA! Damn, I couldn't help by laugh at that. First Dude of crazy Alaska doesn't look tan at all to me. By the way, when are Sarah Palin's clothes going to charity and which one? I want to buy some of her clothes for like $20 bucks.
