...is wanting the life you have.
That's not original, but it's truer than most of what you'll get in the self-help genre.
Feel free to pay me, if you like.
Perhaps if he had used campaign funds to buy ONE HUNDRED of them, it would be a story.
It is that she does not care. The same goes for her responses to questions about the responsibilities of the VP. She does not care.
We can spend all day finding fault with the program or its broadcast, but I am not going to. I was thrilled to see people gladly and proudly singing "This Land is Your Land" at a public event. I was glad to see a Gay Men's Chorus welcome the President-elect into office. I was thrilled to see the next Leader of the Free World laugh at himself when Jamie Foxx did the spot-on impersonation of him. The event mirrored my personal vision of America: flawed but well-intentioned.
Whine and complain about who was marginalized in the broadcast of the event if you want to, but I will not. There will be plenty of disappointment ahead; I will enjoy this feeling of accomplishment and freedom today.
...a Roman Catholic priest could still refuse to marry someone who is legally divorced, thought that person can legally marry. It seems there's precedence for a religion to deny the blessings of a church marriage to those who have legal standing to marry.
I have known smug pregnant women (who have become smug, "I'm so sorry you'll never have a true purpose in life" mothers) and bitter single and childless women. In general, smug pregnant women were smug before they conceived and bitter singles will be bitter should they choose a partner in life.
Did I mention that a pregnant friend was the first to send me this video?
As were my house cat and my neighbor's hamster.
I love the way actual smug women showed up to try to scold everyone else for not being sufficiently reverent about the buns in their ovens.
Well, I'm certainly not as afraid of my own government, if that counts.
Me, too!
Apparently, Mel Brooks is a prophet.
Other than that, I'm not crazy about her, and I think she hurts the party whenever she opens her mouth.
But that's just my perception.
...I check the date. Is it April 1st?
Seriously, this column sounds more and more like a Colbert-esque parody, and it cracks me up.
...when you've offended someone.
The fact that he was blackmailed into apologizing by thinly-veiled accusations of pedophilia from a woman who took yet another opportunity to pimp out her kids for a few minutes in the spotlight is unfortunate. That a whole lot of people in this country believe that same woman is a moral example and the kind of person we want running the executive branch is troubling, to say the least.
Good for you for stepping up, Dave.
She probably had the response written before the announcement. She is doing whatever she has to do to stay in the spotlight. It works with her base and I just hope and pray that it does not work with population at large.
I think that was one of the non-defamatory phrases Sarah used on the campaign trail.
I note, however, that her attorney says she is not under investigation for the Wasilla sports complex and its connection to the construction of her home. He goes to great lengths to prove that she did not participate in any wrongdoing with respect to that facility. He goes so far as to say, "we can categorically state that we are not aware of any 'federal investigation' that has been 'pending' for the last seven years. We are aware of no subpoenas on SBS regarding the Palins."
He does not "categorically state" that neither she nor Todd are under any investigation whatsoever.
I'm not a lawyer; is that significant?
I guess I agree that not finishing the job to agreed to do is setting bad example. I don't think we can really judge, though, until the reasons for her resignation finally come to light.
I am no fan of this woman, but there's seems to be a rush to pillory her over this that I am not especially comfortable with.
I bought the clogs for gardening and I still wear them for that. I can hose them clean and leave them outside.
I bought some flip-flops because they are so comfy, and I still wear them, too.
Why would anyone think these people can move beyond, "I know you are but what am I?"
