Oh, no! Jebbie, not that!

Please sing loudly or drink copiously. It may help to drown out the repeated catterwalling of "Hold that Tiger" which I am obligated to perform for the next....ummm 23 days...due to losing a bet with my neighbor. The obnoxious LSU flag on the front of my home is also due to come down at the end of that period so please have at least 2 glasses in salute.

The more copiously I drink, the louder I sing. So I'll probably be able to accomplish both.

Oh. Wow. Do I evah feel your pain!

Is there, like, a schedule for these, urm, "performances"? If I had to do something like that daily, I'd be damn well sure to do it at the most inconvient time I could possibly ascertain. But maybe timing was pre-arranged... ;->

I don't know what to say about the flag. That is painful. I think it's worth at least 3 glasses. Consider them downed on your behalf.

I try to hold my own devastation at bay with the thought that they weren't even supposed to win the Big Ten, let alone manage a repeat performance in the Big One. LSU deserved that trophy, and I'm really happy for them, but we've got a lot of guys coming back..... ;->

Dirigo

And, who cares about the LSU flag anyway?

Fer cryin' out loud, Jeb?

Jebbie's honoring a bet. He's being gentlemanly. I will be honoring his chivalry, as requested, in due course. ;->

they're 'non-persons.'

Avoid contractions. "They are 'non-persons'." has more oomph.

Jebbie and his Noxious Fruits

Just got a new computer last week and I'm already having to clean it. That made me snort coffee all over the place. I hope you're happy with yourself. ;->

Glenn, kudos on this clear and concise piece. This whole "judicial activism" framing has been a real nettle in my side. It's hard to say which is more absurd, them peddling their ignorance in such a brazen way, or the fact that so many people still buy into their ignorant rants.

@ farnsworth

Less than half of the students ever look it up though. In some classes it is less than ten percent. It is not surprising that the vast majority of people choose to react without knowledge of the facts.

Yesterday I told a RWA I know to learn how to use google. Here is his response verbatim:

Google..............wow, what an unbiased source. Why don't you go for broke and just quote Moveon.Betrayus.

Who is an owner and on the board?

Al Gore

It just never ceases to amaze me the mental gymnastics these folks have to go through in order to justify remaining ignorant. They are quite willful about it. I had to go to the trouble of quoting other wingers at him to prove my point, and even then he probably thought I was just making it up.

You just can't win.

Me too LWM

But I know this particular RWer well enough to know he hadn't done any such thing and was just spouting some crap he heard on Fox or saw on Newsmax.

Thanks for the board list. I didn't have time then to look it up, and forgot about it later. I'll be sure to pass that little gem along.

Thank you B.

The Teilhard de Chardin quote was just what I needed to see.

How did you know?

Jebbie, tsk, tsk.

Frankly, if I could trade a Reid resignation for a Republican President in November, I would.

Don't be a drama queen. ;-> This would be just a bit too far. Especially since 2 out of 3 Repub candidates have vowed to quadruple the Bush agenda ASAP on election.

OT - got to meet and talk to Matt while we were in KW. Lovely young man. Great restaurant with really good food.

@Bystander

Any woman in the trade would be well advised to demand triple what he gets from the telecoms upfront. And, chase it with a shot of penicillin.

What they're sharing, penicillin won't cure.

Nice to see Celery Stalks sprouting again too. ;->

Come to think of it,

there is no amount of money that would convince me (were I a 'woman of the trade', which I am not) to deal with that sorry desert-withered ass of Reid's.

Women, no matter their 'trade', need to maintain some sort of standards.

Jebbie, I agree.

If this keeps up many will find a need for Gold.

Not Maya Gold, but Acapulco Gold.

I'm already there, and would probably need both. Between a nasty sinus infection and amendments to the language of amendments my head is, quite literally, spinning.

Many thanks to Pow wow, Sysprog and all others who are not only allowing us to follow this so closely, but also understand (sorta) what's actually going on. Without your help my calls to our so-called 'elected officials' would just sound like so much angry jibberish.

Indeed, I can Jebbie.

Can you visualize the image these candidates could offer the American people by presenting a solid and united front on this single issue?

If they were to manage to set aside their pursuit of the Presidency long enough to do this, I believe they would almost guarantee the executive office (and maybe even both houses of Congress as well) would remain in the hands of the Democratic party for the foreseeable future.

It would also be so historic an occurrence that the M$M would have to cover it. Pickin' and choosin', not to mention just makin' it up as they go, wouldn't be much of an option for a situation like this. I am visualizing a dozen (or more) pundits choking on their own bile.... ;->

I hope that our efforts can persuade them to set aside ambition and ego for the common good, but I am not optimistic that all three can be convinced of the wisdom of this sort of effort - too many consultants stand in the way.
