@ Kitt, Aych and Mona render a, uh, thrashing...

And heaven forbid that your ignorance is the voice of most blacks, as you are pretending it to be in your comments.-- Kitt

Jeebus, you have an iron grip on the obvious.-- Aycharaych

If Glenn is wasting one second of concern that he "lacks cred" with blacks as a result of your ravings, then I am a cloistered nun.-- -Mona-

Well snap, slap and tickle my funnybone! I believe y'all have nailed that one to the mat with a tag-team that's one for the history books around here. ;->

My theory...

Thrasher = an African-American (wanna be? Could be.) MAJOR on mild tranqs, which might explain the lack of caps.

Thank you everywoman

Your reality check was a welcome change of pace in a thread that had been massively derailed. I know I am not alone in hoping you will continue to read and contribute here in Glenn's comment section.

Glenn - you have become a man of many diguises:

@ Bebop

B, just wanted to pop in (better late than never) to reinforce LWM's statements on antibiotics. You know what I do for a living and how long I've done it, and LWM is giving you the word on it. Please heed.

We would hate for you to get sick on us. We need you here.

I also 2nd (3rd, 4th or whatever) Glenn's letter-writer. You are a treasure. And we have just enough pirate in us to want to keep you.

@ Gwool

Was it an impromptu moment that struck a chord with perimenapausal women everywhere who vascillate between tolerating their husband and wanting to tear their murderous faces off at the slightest change in estrogen?

I'm perimenopausal and this is just a bullshit statement.

As for Nancy Kerrigan whining, if you'd ever devoted your life to a dream - and I'm talking about pretty much commiting every waking moment for years to some form of training (and I've done it) - that was subsequently destroyed in such an underhanded manner, then you might not consider it 'whining' you ass.

And I don't even particularly like Kerrigan.

Snippets...

2. Informal. A small or mischievous person. [perhaps a journalist w/ an agenda?] [emphasis mine]

Oh, boy, I'm both! Now B will be calling me a 'snippet'.

LWM & Anonymust

Just too damn stoopid to realize that caucuses and primaries occur in single states and Iowa and NH are hardly represntative of the nation at large.

Word.

I wish we had a primary that was a single-day event just like the genereal election (oops, the fyslexic dingers strike again - then again, 'genereal' is sorta suggestive of 'venereal', and the last 2 elections could be so termed, IMHO). Barring that, is it realy too much to realize that two states do not a victory make?

I'm feeling pissy tonight - but, of course, it's just the whoremoans. ;->

Glad you're back... I've missed your presence here today.

Was tied up with the family situation. Exhausting stuff. Have been playing catch-up for the past two days.

OT - my orchids are outside... in the rain....in Ohio.....in January.

If that doesn't say something about global climate change then I'm a monkey's uncle.

G'night everyone. I have some sleep to catch up on.

Bebop - have you seen a Dr. yet about your leg?

Please tell me you are going today, or even better, that you've already been.

I am VERY concerned.

MRSA is only one of several bugs that can cause very aggressive and dangerous infections and it is critical that you be on an antibiotic that is appropriate for the organism causing your infection as not all antibiotics work for all bugs.

If you are on antibiotics your Dr. prescribed, and there has been no improvement in the past 24 hours, then you need to go see the Dr. again. Immediately! If your leg is too sore to drive, then you need to call your son, or someone else, to take you.

I am not kidding. Delaying is not an option B. If this is MRSA or Group A Strep (you know, the "flesh-eater") then you can very quickly lose your leg, or worse.

Ok B. Thank you.

Just keep in mind - if it's NOT IMPROVING, then you need to go back, and sooner rather than later.

Ok, climbing down off the health care soapbox now. I don't think you need to apologize for this OT conversation. I think Glenn and everyone else will be relieved to know that you are taking care of yourself and we don't need to worry, well, at least not as much as we were. ;->

On topic: I agree with whomever called Matthews a douche bag. He is, indeed, and a stale one at that (EEEEEEW!).

Because such expressions are still tolerated on the Left, unlike expressions of racism.

I second that. And I agree that this group is exceptional.

Yet still we get this:

Was it an impromptu moment that struck a chord with perimenapausal women everywhere who vascillate between tolerating their husband and wanting to tear their murderous faces off at the slightest change in estrogen?

And when I challenged this on behalf of perimenopausal women everywhere, I was accused of "seething". I just thought I was calling "bullshit", but, whatever.

Then this gem:

I was unaware humor loss was part of the biological transformation.

Har-de-har-har. I'm so dried up and humorless I couldn't recognize the wit.

I did, however, have enough juice left to notice the misogyny.

LOL! Hot flashes are too mundane....a little bloating complicated by mood swings isn't too much to ask, is it?

Thanks also for the poem. I had never read it before. I plan on sharing it widely.
