Amnesty is as amnesty does

For more thoughts on amnesty for lawbreakers, all one need do is mention the phrase "illegal immigrants" in a room full of Republicans, and you'll hear some very passionate and heartfelt arguments in opposition to any hint of "amnesty for lawbreakers".

--Anonymous

I use this technique too. It's the only time this issue is even remotely amusing, watching their faces get red, their cheeks puff out, their eyes get all squinty, all the hrmphing and "Well, that's different!".

And when I ask how it is "different" other than that the lawbreaking, on the one hand, is committed by very poor people who cannot afford counsel, and on the other by very wealthy people who have lawyers worth millions of dollars -- well, let's just say it's rather interesting to watch a RWA's head explode.

Pubic relations and statuary

"statutes", you mean. But thanks for the laugh, as I pondered ol' GW blithely ignoring that pesky statuary.

-- bamage

That statuary your referring to is commonly known as "Congress".

What's next? Unflattering pubic relations? -- Lydieth

Already been there. Just google "republican sex" and you get 2,060,000 results and, from the looks of the first page, they aren't flattering.

Republicants

I like the K. I doubt you'll find all that many of them who even know who Immanuel Kant was, let alone who have actually read him. If they are broad-minded enough to know the name (which raises its own questions about why they are still Republikants) then the confusion is deserved.

I wonder if enough people would still make the connection with "cant."

The only ones who will get this are those of us using the word. Those named will confuse "cant" with the contraction for "cannot" and will react by blustering about, "Can't? Who gave you the right to tell me what I can and can't do? I'll show you!" followed by extended periods of great disgruntlement.

RMP --

Republicants will relent only when they can’t find a way to destroy their opponent.

Can't recall a single time when I've ever seen them relent. It seems to me they only know how to reload.

Situational applications?

We could use them all... and see what sticks?

Why have only one word when there are so many lovely qualities to be celebrated?

Republican't - anyone on that side of the aisle voting on a social program.

Republiqani - not sure about this one. Didn't quite follow your explanation:

(Asian genitive with a bit of Arabic transliteration for the arc of civilization crowd)

Raspubleticheskovo - that's a Cheneyite fer sure.

Bebop & RMP

We cant get it all, and Nobody can.

Makes it just that much more puzzling when I watch those who already have so much as they relentlessly grasp for more. Is there ever such a thing as enough for them?

P.S. I can make near perfect poached eggs.

It would be enough, on a fine Fall morning, to have good company, a good cup of coffee, a perfect poached egg and a hunk of warm, fresh bread with homemade blueberry preserves.

We Dems often give in too easy. When I see a mistake, I admit it. Reload it is.

I didn't mean that it couldn't happen, just that I couldn't actually recall any such times. Even their own occasionally get caught in the spray of buckshot. ;->

As for admitting mistakes, that's not giving in. That's being honest and accountable (a word the Republicants use often, but whose meaning pretty much eludes their comprehension).

More material

Still, there may be some way to make/write/suggest one of those movies that Pedinska and I were discussing a few months ago. And we could work in as much of the material we have all gathered here as possible. [P, I noted your addy.]

Repubican (props to whomever it was in an earlier thread who mentioned "pubic service". It's been difficult to stop smiling about that one...)

Useage: "Faux Noise is so Repubican!"

http://foxattacks.com/

p.s. We were probably both reading that wiki at the same time and for the same reasons. E me and I'll give you my "real" addy.

I'll see you and raise...

I think making Alito's wife cry in public was a low point difficult to match.

How many people do you think cried over that?

Can they noodle?

republicanoodling...

I like it but it doesn't quite work:

ca·noo·dle

Pronunciation: kə-ˈnü-dəl

Function: intransitive verb

Inflected Form(s): ca·noo·dled; ca·noo·dling

Etymology: perhaps from English dialect canoodle, noun, donkey, fool, foolish lover

The bolded bit is the part that doesn't fit.

Republicaanisqatsi?

Not sure where this one's going. Can you use this in a sentence for me please?

The Caudal Appendage Speaks...or something like that.

Democrats are the party of "no" and unlike Democrats, Republicans aren't as focused around labels.

Really? Who said "no" to all those children who used to get health care through SCHIP?

As for labels, here are a few I found in a quick search:

"The Democrat Party" - pretty much every Republikant out there.

"Amnesty" - the anti-immigrant chant which is separating the chaff (bigots) from the wheat (pro-corporate) on the right.

"Feminazis" - ol' Rush Limpballs is just FULL of labels.

"Faggot" - Ann Coulter referring to John Edwards.

"Ragheads" - AC on Muslims. Annie's got a lot of labels.

Spare us the "Republicans as focused around labels" whinge. That's page one out of Rove's playbook. If you don't know that, then you're a pitiful excuse, even for a Republikant.
