Oh, no they di'n't!

Faux News just ran a story about the US women's bridge team that won a tournament in Shanghai. One of the smiling five is holding up a large trophy, and another a cardboard sign that reads:

We did not vote for Bush.

Shades of the Dixie Chicks.

-- Propagandee

Can't wait to see the foamers turning themselves inside-out trying to figure out a way to boycott bridge players.

Bush and Cheney plant entire audiences, and you don't hear the wingnuts complain about that!

Someone needs to tell them that spewing uncomposted fertilizer will only end up burning the vegetation. ;->

Jkalos

I put my hands together, and do that little buddhist bow toward you. Respect!

Namaste.

Respect is the key, and something this group never extends toward its opponents.

Anonymust and youthful indiscretions...

Generosity of spirit... that is what's called for.

It would be the liberal way.

The rest of your post made me grin so hard I got a cheek cramp.

4 pages and 2 hours behind in comments, but, but.....

Liberal hatred, however, is distinguished by the pride right wing pundits have taken in their hatred, openly endorsing it as a virtue and enthusiastically proclaiming that their hatred is not only a rational response to the left...

Okay, with my fix, the above statement becomes a rather 'mild' description of Ann Coulter.

but a mark of good moral hygiene.

Here's where my analogy falls apart. 'Ann Coulter' and 'hygiene' in the same paragraph just doesn't work for me.....

Besides leaving you enlightened, it'll leave you with the sad realization that Mr Greenwald isn't fit to shine Mr. Berkowitz's shoes.

-- virtue001

If you are an example of 'enlightened', then I think most here will take a pass. I don't think you were paying attention. Mr. Greenwald actually spat on Berkowitz's shoes (or, at the very least, scuffed a significant pile of dirt onto them), then walked away. The only thing shining here was the truth.

Anonymust and B...

I was going to post another comment for you and Pedinska and jkalos, and whoever else was with us (lurking or not) on that sub-thread... and ask if we were going to have a group "cleaning" devoted to clearing the maladministration. If not, I might just do it on my own...

I'm in. It can't come too soon.

So, Mitt now admits that the dirty hippies were right?

I wonder how that’ll play among “the base” of the today’s GOP?

Why hasn’t that statement received more attention?

Their eyes have selective filters, very similar to those found in the their ears and brains. They'll just skim right over that sentence and will deny until their dying day that Romney ever said any such thing. If you put the page in front of them they will close their eyes, stuff their fingers in their ears and sing "Lalalalalala!" as loud as possible until you leave in disgust.

It never ceases to amaze me how many men I know, who actually fought in a war, yet are willing to not only give these guys a pass on their war avoidance, but defend them for it as well. Actual service no longer matters; it's all about the song and dance now.

Right on cue, an example of RWA "selective" perceptions...

How many liberals in favor of the Afghanistan invasion have volunteered? Any? None? Gosh. -- Shooter

Pat Tillman you ass.

Chris Dowd - Not 'pity'. 'Contempt' is the word you want.

If the son of Senator actually volunteered to fight in Iraq that Senator would be looked at with pitty by his collegues in DC- for having a son so stupid as to not know the score.

You mean this kind of 'pity'?

Webb, a decorated former Marine officer, hammered Allen and Bush over the unpopular war in Iraq while wearing his son’s old combat boots on the campaign trail. It seems the president may have some lingering resentment.

At a private reception held at the White House with newly elected lawmakers shortly after the election, Bush asked Webb how his son, a Marine lance corporal serving in Iraq, was doing.

Webb responded that he really wanted to see his son brought back home, said a person who heard about the exchange from Webb.

“I didn’t ask you that, I asked how he’s doing,” Bush retorted, according to the source.

Yes, Senator Webb, do try to stay on topic when talking to our Fearless Leader.

Prurient, costless, voyeuristic love of violence in general and the need for an enemy to hate that can't actually hurt them is what under girds the reich wing support for these wars.

That and the endless profits they earn with virtually no risk to themselves or their loved ones.

No Camels for me B

Thanks, but the humps go straight to my hips. ;->

I'll go for some cheese and whine though.

Instead of thinking with your head, you should be thinking with your gut!

Shooter doesn't think with either but your headed in the right direction.

Instead of 'ventral' though, think 'caudal'.

Thursday, November 15, 2007 12:09 PM

Arne - OT

Not sure if Shooter's caudal is pointy or not. Really don't want to know. ;->

Off-off topic (apologies everyone) - Do you ski?

Arne

"Arne"? "Langsetmo"?!?!?

Is a bear Catholic?

I should have guessed. :-) Dunno about the bears, always thought they were an agnostic group in general. I do know that the few times I've seen them up close and personal (and NOT in a zoo), I got religion PDQ.

Ever skiied Utah?

Can someone tell me how to attach a link to my signature? Then I can move this OT somewhere else. No need to be a thread piggy. [oink]

RMP & Good Celery

Can I join you in the barn? Watching the moon while inhaling the sweet hay scent and letting the turmoils of the day subside sounds like a good thing.

Many thanks to Glenn and everyone else who has studied these developments all day so that we can be as informed as possible.
