Disliking Hillary has nothing to do with feminism

It is easy to understand the blind spot that any of us have when it comes to a belief system-any belief system.

Feminism is a belief system: i.e. that women are discriminated against, period. Clearly historically this has been true. But now, women are no more discriminated against that anyone else. ALL people are discriminated against. Short men are discriminated against by most women. Fat people are discriminated against. The list goes on and on.

But this nonsense with Hillary has got to stop. Hillary is not a very attractive candidate. She is the wife of a former President. Take that away and she would a) never have been a U.S. Senator or been able to run for the Presidency.

She is a bland and boring candidate. And... she lies like a rug.

In case there is anyone out there with intellectual honesty... imagine Obama or Bush saying they had been under sniper fire when they weren't. Then claiming it was poor memory (nonsense).

They would have been skewered by the press for outright lying.

Hillary is not very likable. The truth is the majority of women are for Hillary simply because she is a woman. Isn't that sexist?

Carol Richards and others... I love you

Just read Carol Richards post (and others) and I am now a feminist again. To all of you who have pointed out the reality about Hillary, kudos to you.

Joan and her grossly unfair use of Salon as a PAC for Hillary is why I canceled my subscription to Salon.

But it is indeed a pleasure to see women who think for themselves and refuse to buy into some sort of "party" line.

Obama should get a sex change operation

Joan

You just can't help but slam Obama at every possible opportunity can you? Is being so close top power intoxicating for you? Do you and Hillary hang out? Is this why you have destroyed the credibility of Salon by blatantly supporting her?

Hillary is bland, boring and is running for President ONLY because she was married to one (the antithesis of what feminism is about) lies about braving sniper fire but ... she is a WOMAN.

Would you have Salon return to being a first rate magazine if Obama got a sex change operation?

Think of it. You could have a brilliant, inspiring leader who was also a WOMAN. Then women everywhere could go wild in the streets... WE HAVE A WOMAN PRESIDENT. WE HAVE A WOMAN PRESIDENT.

Yes, its sad. Do we elect a boring leader who lies about being brave, but who is a WOMAN or do we elect a brilliant inspiring leader but who isn't a woman?

One of the letters to Salon says it all: "We women are not going to let this nomination be stolen from Hillary:" We girls are all together on this.

Identity politics is for small minded people. I would vote for a purple toad frog if it was best for the country. That so many women (not all, thank God) would support Hillary simply because she is a woman is beyond the pale.

Joe Are You on the Clinton Payroll

Joe, you are a brilliant writer but during this campaign your ass kissing of the Clinton's is unseemly.

Your complaint is that Hillary is being held to account for her lies? Yes, the media ignores lies from likable people. While this is wrong is doesn't mean Hillary should get a pass.

"Oh but she wrote the truth in her book"

But you Joan and Shapiro can tap dance all you want, she lied about her heroic bravery against sniper fire on at least 3 occasions. And its wrong, wrong enough to disqualify her from high office.

But this campaign has exposed the Clintons (whom I used to like), Shaprio, Joan and Salon.

All of you are doing what you criticise Republicans for: turning a blind eye when the person who is pond scum is someone you like.

Joan, how did you get this job?

Joan

How did you get to be Editor in Chief of Salon? Did you know somebody? Did you inherit money? With all the talent in Salon, how is it that you are the least talented?

You simply cannot get over your Hillary fixation can you? ANY attempt to take a shot at Obama and bam, there you go.

What did you expect Hillary to say? She LIED to make herself appear brave. How can you apologize for that? She lied at least three times on different occasions. She has run a terrible campaign, and despite what you want to believe, Hillary has had ever possible advantage. A junior Senator with a funny name, who is black, has beat her. THAT must rankle those who want a woman-ANY woman to be President.

Do you really want the Clintons to be back in office? With the far right sinking do you really want to give them a target to rally around?

The problem is you want a WOMAN to be President at any cost. You are no different from the Republicans that you blast. THey want a Republican at any cost and you want a WOMAN.

Tell the truth. If Condi Rice was the Republican candidate and ANY man was the Democratic candidate, you would vote for Condi wouldn't you?

Why, because... Oh God... a WOMAN would be the President and you could jump up and down for 8 years.

If a man felt the way you did, you would call him a sexist. When a woman is a sexist, you (and others) say they are empowered, a feminist, etc.

Of course, you will brand me as someone who is a sexist. But, sorry, I believe there is no differences in the sexes, or in races. There are on individuals.

So how DID you get this job, Joan?
