  • Democratic "Spine" = Wet Noodle

[Read the article: This Modern World ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The degree to which the Democrats have enabled the ongoing rush to fascism masterminded by the neocon whores of the corporate globalists apparently HAS caused widespread consternation and revulsion, but also a sense of hopelessness disempowerment. The apathy that results plays into the hands of the authoritarians, rendering our once proud republic the window dressing for a totalitarian state. If the "opposition" takes on the role of enabler for the sick perversions of our heritage perpetrated by Bush & Co., where do we find the antidote for this malady?

While we should be directing our energies at securing a sustainable economy and optimal population size, instead we are forced to do that which should be a given: restore the rule of law, reason, and fairness in the halls of government.

Don't support any of the "front runners", as they are front men (and one woman) for the wealthy corporate elite working to establish an Orwellian totalitarian state. I'm supporting Ron Paul, the only candidate with a reliable record of opposition to the neocon mafia.

  • At Last, An Article About A Real Issue!

[Read the article: Public bathroom dilemma: Paper or air?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Thanks a million for bringing to everyone's attention the crucial question of paper towels vs. hot air dryers! I'm a long-standing foe of the noisy, slow, ineffective hot air dryers and refuse to use them. Toilet seat guards or "ass gaskets", if provided, make serviceable substitutes for paper towels. I also carry an hanky and use it for a variety of tasks involving the absorptive removal of aqueous solutions and suspensions.

Now that the battle between paper towels and hot air dryers has been joined, it may be appropriate to tackle the greatest issue of our time: ketchup packets vs. ketchup pumps. The wastefulness, inconvenience, and annoyance caused by ketchup packets at fast food restaurants makes them universally despised by customers. I've written to Jack several times on this issue, but, in typical corporate elite fashion, he has never deigned to respond to my pleas for redress. The ketchup pumps at Burger King rock, and could only be improved if the cups were biodegradable instead of plastic. Let us then all work together to bring about the extinction of the ketchup packet, a universally recognized menace to cleanliness, good order and public health.

Now, then about those damnable stickers they put on fruit...

  • Real Crises vs. Fake Crises

[Read the article: Rudy Giuliani's messianic paranoia]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't know if Rudolf Ghouliani is scarier if he believes the crap about the threat of "Islamofascism" to world civilization or not. If he does believe it, he has got to be one of the least intelligent and discriminating beings on the planet and is in no wise qualified for a position in any government office, least of all the Presidency. Under his "leadership" the country would continue to waste lives and resources fighting what can only objectively categorized as minor annoyance. If he does not believe "Islamofascism" is a threat, but is cynically using it as a tool to gain political support, then he is another lying sonofabitch that will misuse the power of the Presidency to support the wealthy elite at the expense of everyone else in the world. Either way, the country loses.

For those who wish to engage in issues that really do threaten the long term stability of our society, I modestly suggest some of the following:

    1) the corrosive destruction of our political heritage of Constitutional government and its principled and moral rectitude by authoritarian hacks fronting for the corporations that call the shots in Washington, DC.

    2) the imminent depletion of the petroleum resources this country has used almost exclusively as a basis for our infrastructure in housing, transportation, industry, agriculture, etc., etc.

    3) the exhaustion of our fresh water resources vital to our towns, cities, and agriculture.

    4) the sprawl of growing urban areas preempting productive agricultural land and wildlife habitats.

    5) the loss of employment opportunities for our young people and the decline in American industrial self-sufficiency through globalist economic policies and virtually unrestricted tolerance for illegal immigration.

    6) the shameless taxing of future generations by funding government by borrowing on a continuing and increasing basis.

    7) the monthly export of tens of billions of dollars of our national wealth due to the balance of trade deficit and the massive debts we have incurred to foreign nations, not all friendly, in consequence.

    8) the exploding cost of and restrictive access to medical insurance, which costs thousands of lives a year and tens of thousands of family bankruptcies. The present system is inhumane and destructive of "family values".

No doubt this list could receive many significant additions, the most trivial of which would far outweigh the "threat" of "Islamofascism". Let this nation never again elect a delusional paranoid or cynical slave to corporate interests to our highest office when rational and decisive leadership is needed so badly.
