  • You forgot something Joan

[Read the article: Is it OK to criticize the president again?]

Im surprised at this comment of yours. Dont you know that for Republicans, poor people are sub humans, especially if they are minority or disabled? When have we seen any Republican, or for that matter even Democrats (especially ones who authorized this war) say a few moments of grace for Iraqis are being blown to smithereens? Or those folks who lost their lives as a result of Katrina....

  • about Michelle Malkin...

[Read the article: More cruelty from right-wing crackpots]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I know we shouldnt make judgement about ppl based on race, but Ill throw one anyways...

Michele Malkin is one of those ppl (like Michael Jackson) who wished she didnt have Asian looking features. That is why she is always heaping useless rants and insults on minorities and liberals. Its her way of proving to the white man that she is not one of "those" Asians whose loyalty to America is suspect. Nevermind that such white men in most decent people's mind are imaginary, but for Michele they are real and she is always trying to appease them. And nevermind that liberals come in all stripes and color. But I sense that all this puke coming out of her seems for come from some deep seated antipathy over her own racial features and sense that she will never be 100% red blooded all American girl even in the eyes of those ppl for whom she bends over backwards

if Michele had it her way, she would go to France and have one of those surgeons who operated on the facial transplant, she would have them remove her Asian features and transplant white features on herself.

  • Sorry to read this...

I am almost in tears reading your article and reading the suffering you went through. You try to make light of it now, but I think it would be shameful of anybody who didnt realize what an awful situation you were put in...

I guess this goes on to show how "civlized" so called civilized nations really are..

  • Horne is another Tom Friedman

[Read the article: Bush's favorite historian]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Its hard to understand why an astute and intrepid columnist such as Gary Kamiya would give this British Neocon any legitimacy by interviewing him.

Basically Mr.Horne got caught up in all the sexy trumped up music and action for war with Iraq, got an erection and supported the invasion. This guy knows his credibility as a historian is the gutter and so now he is just another rat abandoning a sinking ship and trying to salvage what's left of his putrid reputation.

How can it be that Pelosi, Obama, Edward Kennery, Byrd, Gen Odom, Lt Gen Hoar, Brezinski, Hersh, to name a few know that going into this war of choice would be a disaster for US but someone with the knowledge and gravitas such Horne get it wrong?!! The answer is plain and simple...his career has been built on war...he writes about war and supported this war to feed himself..look how happily he announces "Sharon loved my book and I am the reason he won a war!!!..Wow me!!! (oh and he has the gall to blame the Jews for the Iraq disaster!!!...now that things arent goin well)

This guy isn't sorry about anything...he is just issuing a mea culpa to salvage his reputation..I bet some in the deep crevices of his fetif mind he is craving war with Iran but is too scared to utter it.... but he cloaks his desire for Arab annihilation by saying "oh Islam is a backward religion..oh look Gary look!..Indians make more money than Muslims...so Muslims suck!

  • Sick of this...

[Read the article: Portrait of a princess, interrupted]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why the hell is Salon covering this story? Don't we have enough issues already in this world to cover? Why give this money and fame hounding princess any more coverage than has already been given, especially by the British media?

I know it's not nice to speak ill of the dead, but seriously why all this psychoanalytic BS again? Look all Diana cared for was publicity, fame, money and the right to shag any billionaire that walked by her. She cloaked this greed by pretending to be a middle class Brit who knew how to shove it to the Royals, and by pretending she deeply cared about African AIDS orphans. You know if she really cared about poor people she could have given up all that wealth and fame and dedicated her life to helping those people, just like Mother Teresa, but she was nothing but a poseur. Even her final moments show this indignity..a mother of two having an amorous steamy affair with a millionaire playboy....rushing to avoid paparazzi..why? because then her true playboy would be revealed...now Prince Charles was no angel, and frankly this is small pain for a Royal family that had spent the past century colonizing and killing other poor people..so I dont feel sorry for the Royals, but this isnt about him or them...two wrongs dont make a right, but maybe Diana did belive the opposite.
