Obama still got those "Dad" jeans on.
@rum&coke Look again, it's the same black guy in all those shots.
It's just becoming so obvious that BroadSheet combs the intertube looking for stories that they can get all righteous and snarky about.
This letter from the Ethicist might have generated an interesting essay from MEW. Studies have shown that people who are pretty ARE favored. I bet if the wife had written in about this issue, you would have been much more sympathetic.
@terricon
Interesting...Things that make you go hmmmm...

At first glance, the mix of students makes no real sense: A few of them have been to culinary school, but the rest are amateurs with very little experience.
You're wrong, Heather...
Per wikipedia:
Jean Val Jean (Now known by birthname Emmanuel Delcour) is the premier straight porn practitioner of analingus on female co-stars.
My condolences to you and your family.
I've been waiting to hear your take on this incident. You mentioned how dismayed you were with the intense media attention this story is getting. I wonder if your being a pilot prevents you from seeing how fascinating, wonderful and terrifying flight is for most of us.
To this day, I am amazed to fly. As the comedian CK Louis said about the miracle of flight, "You're sitting in a chair in the sky!"
So even though to you this seems innocuous and not a near catastrophe, to us civilians, it reminds us that we are hurtling through the sky, guided by normal every day humans who could make a mistake that will kill you.
Q: Did Michelle Obama make $317,000 a year while working part-time at the University of Chicago Medical Center?
A: This allegation in a chain e-mail is wrong: Obama’s reported income was $103,633 in 2007, the year she reduced her work schedule to part time.

But one poster from the Chicago Tribune web site says,
yes, you're missing something. it's the other kind of coming...not "arriving."
With an extra BIG ASS FRIES!
No you are not the only one who is disappointed in Broad Street. I just don't get where they are going lately. It almost as if they have turned into a parody of themselves. Are they deliberately writing stuff to get the trolls riled up?
I have to disagree that fans of Tyler Perry's movies see Madea as an over-the-top caricature. My entire family and most of the black folk I know, love his movies, especially Madea. They see Madea as this tough, take charge, tell it like it is character. And they love that about her. They think the character is funny and hilarious. She is the truth-teller.
I went to one of his plays and watched everybody around me enjoying themselves. I felt like the little boy seeing the emperor naked. It was simplistic, bad dialog, poor pacing, no subtlety whatsoever.
I give him his props, he is giving his fans what they want. But if I want to see stereotypes turned on their heads, I'll take Dave Chappelle over Tyler Perry any day.
Clearly you do care, cuz here you are, posting.
I have tickets to see Maxwell {swoon}. She is the opening act (with Common). I have never heard of her, but her name keeps popping up. Heading on over to check her out on iTunes...
As to Whitney, I listened to Million Dollar Bill and thought her voice was shot. It sounded hollow and diminished. Too bad.
Just skip down and read the last ten paragraphs.
That site, "How to Appear on the Sartorialist", is hysterical!
Are you a man?
Do you own something double-breasted?
Yes.
Wear it.
Man I feel so sorry for you. I know this may sound idealistic, but I see beauty in everyone.
I am a bald fat woman. I am not ugly. When I am out and about I turn heads, especially when I am dressed up. I know I am unusual looking and that feeds my self-confidence.
Your poor regard for your personal appearance seems to feed your negativity, which is so evident in your postings. Since the signatures are at the bottom of a posting, you can't see who the author is until you have scrolled a bit, but sometimes I can start reading something and know it is you because of the seething snarling nature of your writing.
It's too bad, cuz I think you are a good writer, but you seem so full of hatefulness...
As to the article, this book sounds delightful.
It made some good points, particularly in the last sentence of the piece,
...but hopefully they'll be calling themselves something more accurate. Like "friend."

Rebecca wrote that at one point she had -87 in her bank account. NEGATIVE EIGHTY SEVEN DOLLARS. Seriously, what is wrong with you?
As others have said before, this was an excellently written article. Funny and illuminating. Good writing like this leave me in awe and envious.
It used to be pretty easy to spot satire because it was outrageous. That doesn't work anymore because wingnuts are constantly saying things that are 'way over the top.
true dat...
First welcome back Anne, I missed you. I gave one of your books to a returning Iraq soldier and he says it has saved his sanity.
Second, bernbart, check out the first two keywords for this article...
Satire, Humor
Third, lighten up Francis...
No! Obama is the Lion King. His father, Mufasa was killed right before his eyes. Biden is his evil Uncle Scar. He better watch his back...
No, Obama sprang fully formed from his father's loins, in a mosque, in Kenya. It's true. William Ayers was there, too. Honest!
