I'm confused

You mean Peggy Noonan, a famous Republican speechwriter wrote one thing, but privately expressed something completely different? Man, that's unbelievable. Where did I leave that leaf you can knock me over with? I mean, I always thought she was a real straight shooter. How do I wrap my head around this one. I'm disillusioned and don't know what to make of it.

Original article: How did Sarah Palin do?

Did she actually

Say "stop to pause," during her speech? Who was the protestor being escorted out? It would be nice to get some follow up on that. Her "McCain says one thing one place and the same in the other," is a great place for Obama and company to hammer on McCain. I mean this is a guy who wouldn't vote for his own immigration bill.

The gloves need to come off now. Time to (Attack on the issues) and kick some ass. No time to spare. This woman really scares me. Nice close up of Indiana for hot chicks button or something like it on the vet. Those repubs sure do respect every woman.

Maybe I need to sart smoking to make sense of it all

What a fucking bizarro world this is. Community organizing is met with derisiveness, basic human civil rights are sneered at, and well educated people are looked at as untrustworthy because they are well educated. I mean if you just exit the political bubble, and look at those truths, which are the truths of the Republican party, it's hard to believe that anyone with a shred of intelligence would be a member. Yet, several speeches which reaffirmed those beliefs are being treated by the MSM as effective and home runs in terms of shoring up their base support.

God, I hope the swing voters are over this type of nonsense, and have the reason to choose the candidates that can actually get this country out of some huge messes. If they're not and we get someone who has the beliefs and hypocricsy of McCain/Palin, we're in for some dark times. Darker than they are now, because all I could smell from watching this convention was another Dick Cheney administration, and we all know where that has gotten us.

The take a drink game

Wwoodward- I have a few extra slogans to add to yours

At the RNC convention take a drink every time a Republican talking head says

Elite media

liberal media

eastern establishment

Washington elite

angry left

tax and spend democrats

Palin has executive experience

maverick

Palin is the middle class (I've been hearing this one all day)

Rallied the base

The surge worked

If you decide to play this game, be careful, you may end up with severe alcohol poisoning.

Every time a Republican lies an angel gets its wings-Clarence the angel from It's a Wonderful Convention

Nice steal from The Onion AVclub

Seriously- no one on Salon reads the AV club? As already noted, they did this article days ago. Days ago. Please, if you're going to steal material from them perhaps you can email ZMF and see what articles he would like retread.

@DurianJoe

Well put. She even has an eerie resemblance to Cheney in her sneeer. A truly frightening person.

Original article: McCain: "Change is coming"

Yeah

has that story been vetted? That he was a POW. Wonder why it hasn't been brought up before. Weird.

Original article: Karl Rove, flip-flopper

Jon Stewart is genius

I missed the first part, but saw the Dick Morris part earlier today, and Stewart nailes it when he called Morris a lying sack of shit. Why does Comedy Central have to do the real reporting for this country?

I'll answer that

They won't call anyone on their bullshit because they're all in it together. i don;t mean it in a conspiracy way. It's just that old unspoken role of the MSM- don't call me out on my bullshit, and I won't call you out on yours. I can't remember how many interviews I've seen with pundits who were not taken to task when they outright lied about Palin's political record like her supposed objection to the Bridge to Nowhere.

That's why The Daily Show kicks ass. While Stewart is rarely confrontational with his Republican guests, he isn't afraid to skewer them in every other place in the show. Lastly, I have been surprised by Larry King the past two weeks who has actually been pretty tough on his Republican Guests. He's been feisty as well as asked follow up questions when they've been full of it.
