Original article: Knock it off, Paul Begala

Please take a breath.

More concern trolling from our esteemed editor? Are you worried that an Obama spokesman will be called to the carpet for saying something stupid about Palin's looks? And do you think that will in turn contribute towards losing this election for Democrats? If you do, I think you're wrong, and not giving enough credit to female voters.

I'm sure we will see some statements by Democrats that can be construed correctly or not as degrading. However, I think the bottom line for the voters will be what she does and does not believe in. For example, her apparent lack of belief in science. She's a creationist. Doesn't that mean she doesn't believe in evolution or dinosaurs? Just what we need another anti-science politician in a place of power. I would hazard to guess as a creationist she's not a big fan of the gays. The investigation regarding the abuse of her power to get her in-law in fired looks at best pretty unseemly. I'm also guessing she has some problems with protecting the environment, but I'll have to keep researching. My point is that there are a lot of things that will come out that will let voters know who she is. I sincerely doubt a Begala statement or a foot in the mouth slip from someone else is going to sway voters. In other words, maybe you should calm down a little, and maybe write a great editorial on why you think she would be good or bad for this country in terms of who she is as a politician. I'd be much more interested in reading that article than something like this.

I agree with the first poster

More blowhards giving long winded bullshit advice. Count me in as another person passing on this article. I have to agree with a lot or letter writers that this site sucks now. I can't believe i actually used to pay for this bullshit. The quality of articles covering everything from politics to the arts has steadily declined to the point where I really don't know what the overriding philosophy of this site is. Can someone fill me in, because I know it used to be dedicated for the most part to smart progressive causes and stimulating discussions about the culture at large. Now most articles seem to be written for the sole purpose of web hits from bored trolls who want to incite. Lastly, what the fuck is a John McCain ad doing here? Just awful man.

Now that

Was the speech I've been waiting for. Just magnificent. Easily the best speech of the convention, and a real missive against the failed policies of the Republicans, while also wholeheartedly supporting Obama. He nailed it on every level. Bravo.

Original article: Greek columns? Really?

@Alex

You really are an awful journalist. Just awful. My first thoughts to your article were reflected in just about every letter already written in reposnse to this trash so I won't go on except to say,-just stop this nonsense already or go work for Drudge.

Original article: When is a plot not a plot?

Unfortunately

You could hear the collective erection of the msm growing as this story progressed. The media just loves this kind of shit. I'm sure they were sorry there wasn't more to it they could exploit.

Original article: We drive as we live

Tough to find solutions

One poster touched upon the road rage of being cut off, and this tv movie directed by Steven Spielberg in 1971 is a great example of what happens when human behavior, anger, and cars mix. It's two cars, a wide open road, and lots of tension. I grew up driving in the overheated, traffic infested streets and highways of Los Angeles. I moved to San Diego at 27, which was years ago, and have found myself becoming a better and more generous driver than I ever was in L.A. Letting drivers in on freeways, waving them in to move into my lane if they needed due to easier traffic on a daily basis. There really is very litle in the way of crushing rush hour traffic here, so it makes it easier to relax when I can ompare it to L.A. traffic which is always rush hour traffic.

New York City was probably the worst I've seen as far as traffic goes. It's just bumper to bumper with nowhere to go. I can understand the feeling of futlity those drivers must feel. It really felt like a death race as a pedestrian there where walk signs were treated as dares and not facts. The only answer to reducing road rage and traffic is redesigning the bustling cities with better roads and expanded routes. Unfortunately that takes way too much money to do. As a country we've decided that money would be spetter spent on war.
