I am writing this as a fellow foreigner by the way:
America is the greatest country on Earth inspite of all it's flaws. It is great because it recognizes its weaknesses and takes corrective action quickly. Americans as a people have time and again demonstrated this trait. Case in Point the election of Obama, the civil rights bill, Medicare and eventually I am sure the single payer health care system....
It is myopic to imagine the demise of America.....especially when one enjoys its education system( which attracted people like myself and I am sure Mr.Ali to come here to pursue higher studies), its civil liberties, infrastructure etc....
Criticism should be constructive.....Mr.Ali...if you live here and see a iceberg then do something about it....get involved...change course of the ship....
create wealth(read new) and jobs...while everyone is important in the supply chain all the way to the consumers, one can reasonably argue that people like Bill Gates for instance who built a billion dollar enterprise do create jobs.
Now the fact that there is a better possibility of someone like Gates to thrive here in the USA is a testimony for a better private-public partnership.
It is a semitic religion as so is Islam...Does the Bible make references to Ireland, Germany ?People who wrote the old testament at least, knew little of the world beyond their own.

The point I am making is this: A lot of cultures have most in common than we realize.
