When will the Dems figure out how to counter the Repub propoganda with language the average American understands? They should know by now that the MSM is firmly in the the Repubrightwing hands. The Dems need to explain to the American people that they have been played for fools for the past 6 years. Bush's handlers don't bother putting much polish into their propoganda as they know it won't be subject to even the slightest scrutiny by the MSM and certainly not the average American. first off, thanks for helping fight the cancer that

has infected our country.

Spoofing someone's email address is quite simple. It

is quite easy to send an email with any "from" address

you want. But the mail headers will reveal the IP

addresses of all mailmail relay servers that involved

in sending the message. Thus if if someone is simply

spoofing someone's email address it will revealed when

you look at the mail headers and see an IP address

that is not part of the senders mail system. Of course

you can prove via the headers that the message came

from the sender's mail system but you can't prove that

someone ( a coworker lets say) didn't access his

account and send the message as him. Of course one

would think that in this particular circumstance this

latter scenerario unlikely.

Headers read in reverse order. Thus they go from receiver back out to sender.

The first paragraph is stamped to the header by the the internal salon.com mail server (mailer.salon.com). basically it says this host mailer.salon.com

received a message from rich.salon.com (rich.salon.com [206.80.4.124] which is one of the salon.com external mail relay hosts. Do an NSLookup

set q=mx, salon.com and it will reveal all the salon.com external mail relay servers.

The second paragraph is where the salon.com external mail relay box stamped the header on the inbound message with the address of

the host that sent the message (02exbhizn02.iraq.centcom.mil [214.13.200.111]). This cannot be spoofed. The salon.com external mail relay looks at

the message and from examining the IP headers it knows where is came from. This addressing cannot be spoofed. The headers contain IP address of the host that the message came from. The salon.com relay server is simply resolving them via dns with the host name in ie (02exbhizn02.iraq.centcom.mil [214.13.200.111].

So I see no point in arguing whether or not this message came from 02exbhizn02.iraq.centcom.mil. It is simply a fact. Let's move on to the real issue

here. And that is that the spokesman for the man in charge of the Iraq occupation has lied in an open forum. Will he be fired? Or will the rightwing noise machine claim that calling Col. Boylan a liar to be another instance of not supporting the troups. I think we can guess the answer to that one. Rush, we're waiting...

In the election of 2000 and 2004 the majority of American voters made their feeling's clear. The majority supports the direction that the right wing has taken our country. Progressives might not like it but America did not spontaneously become a country of fearful, hate mongering torturers. The the transformation of America and American values was a deliberate process that required the particepation of the majority. This is who we are. No better than those we so like to criticize. We have become a country that beleives that the ends always justify the means. America has truly been remade in the image of George W Bush. A pathetic, dishonest underachiever whom the rightwing has used to alter who are are as a people. Truly sad.

We elected these people. We (those who vote) created a system where politicians have to behave a certain way if they have any hope of getting elected and staying in office. Everyone loves to blame the politicians but lets get real here. Its our fault. You get the representation that you deserve and frankly we deserve these people. We reward courage in our leaders by voting them out of office.

Why don't the Dems run TV spots showing a series of of regular American citizens in every town USA taking to their spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, business partners, kids on the telepone and on the split screen showing some scary looking government type sitting in a dark room listening to every word. Its all about images and language folks. Its not that complicated. Instead the Dems never respond to this crap and instead cower in fear and eventually capitulate. I don't under why the Dems are so WEAK! Bush has a 29% approval rating. Did all the Dems flunk math in school??
