If it weren't for anonymous "whistleblowers" in our intelligence community...
[Read the article: The Iran hawks' latest surge]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...the very ones who leaked the new National Intelligence Estimate on Iran last Fall, how far along would we be toward invading that country?
And here we find ourselves at the nexus of the reason why Clinton should be anathema to Democrats in precisely the way Lieberman is. She is an enabler of the GOP war machine.
Actions, not words... remember?
Let's all recall 2002, when Clinton and the vast majority of Democrats bowed to the Bush administration's war-mongering. Without so much as a whimper, Hillary cast her vote for the resolution "authorizing force in Iraq". And she did so without even bothering to read the National Intelligence Estimate.
We've all seen her attempt to justify it. She claims she thought her vote "authorizing force in Iraq" was really to bring the inspectors back in. Seems quite a stretch to me, but let's give her the benefit of the doubt. She was fooled once, but not again... right?
Wrong. When the GOP trotted out the bill to certify the Iranian guard as a terrorist organization during last Fall's session, did Clinton see through this obvious ploy to authorize force in Iran? We all know our rules of engagement: any nation that harbors terrorists is subject to pre-emptive attack. So, Clinton votes to give Bush his justification for war, and if it weren't for good people in our intelligence community leaking the new NIE the following week, how far along would we be now? We are simply lucky that Clinton's actions enabling the GOP war machine didn't pan out. Simply lucky.
We can't allow this person to be commander-in-chief. She is either stupid, completely unprincipled, or a closeted war-monger in the Bush/McCain mold. Actions, not words... remember? And her actions have been indefensible.

@Ben Sen
[Read the article: The Iran hawks' latest surge]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Haven't you been paying attention? Senator Clinton voted to give Bush his authorization to invade Iran. Why must I repeat this over and over? These are her actions, not words.
Again, when the GOP trotted out the bill to certify the Iranian guard as a terrorist organization during last Fall's session, Senator Clinton voted for it. The benefit-of-the-doubt explanation is that she failed to see through this obvious ploy to authorize force in Iran. But we all know full-well the rules of engagement here: any nation that harbors terrorists is subject to pre-emptive attack.
So, Clinton votes to give Bush his justification for war, and if it weren't for good people in our intelligence community leaking the new NIE the following week, how far along would we be now? We simply can't allow this person to be commander-in-chief. She is either stupid, completely unprincipled, or a closeted war-monger in the Bush/McCain mold. Actions, not words... remember?

The Clintons have nothing to hide...
[Read the article: Some free advice for Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...and nothing in their history would suggest they do.
Certainly nothing regarding Johnny Chung and illicit campaign money from the PRC. Nor the coffee klatches and Wang Jun. Definitely not the Lincoln bedroom sellouts. Nor illegal donations to Bill's legal defense fund from Yah Lin "Charlie" Trie. Nor any donations provided through Maria Hsia from the Hsi Lai Temple. Nor illicit payments for seats on Ron Brown's "trade missions". Certainly nothing involving John Huang, James Riady and the Lippo Group. Nor illegal donations to HRC from Norman Hsu. And don't even bring up those unusually enormous returns in commodities trading. Nor cushy real estate deals with certain convicted felons. Nor eye-brow raising pardons of fugitives with business connections to the Clintons.
Really people, there's nothing to see here. You trust good ol' Joe Conason, dontcha?
Now, go back to your holes and forget about all this.

Of course, Hillary has already voted to authorize war against Iran...
[Read the article: Some free advice for Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...but those pesky whistleblowers leaked the NIE!
Such a shame, as Senator Clinton - who can't be bothered to attend the vote and debate on FISA renewal - jumped on the chance to vote in favor of the GOP bill to certify the Iranian guard as a terrorist organization during last Fall's session. Since any nation that harbors terrorists is subject to pre-emptive attack under the Bush doctrine, Clinton knew full-well she was voting to provide the Chimp-in-chief justification for war.
I can only assume Clinton's supporters also want war with Iran. After all, aren't they the ones constantly harping "actions, not words"?
