It could not have been said better.

Do you suppose that our problem began when the Puritans were kicked out of England and came here?

  • I am rather shocked

[Read the article: Bad news dad]

I am shocked that so many of the readers had such anger at the article. They didn't even seem to have read it. Where did they get the idea the first two children turned out bad? Where did they get the strange ideas about his second wife or that he didn't love his family.

I found the article well written and funny. I didn't agree with him, but I noticed that his kids kept calling Dad to see or do something. They don't do that with a bad, lousy father. I know.

I guess I am shocked at the Salon Readers. I expected more.

I liked it and agree with one ever said that people are afraid to say they do not believe in god. It's pretty difficult to give up a scapgoat and take responsibility for your oun actions.

    Keep the cartoons coming.

Good Luck with the puppy. I have a ten year old Golden Retriever puppy and so I can have some sympathy for you. The kids will be fine - it's the puppy that will require the most patience. Let us know how you do amd loads of luck to your entire family.

I did not see this ad the way everyone else did. Maybe it's my age. I saw it as a political statement. This woman and most likely her husbad, are from the hippy period and because of his comments and loud demands she has "obeyed"...AND I saw it as our superior attitude in Iraq where we know what is right for the people and if we demand and scream it will happen. Something like the book, it was a book wasn't it? "The Ugly American"?

I would like to know if my thoughts are totaly off base or on target.

One more thing. Why was it censored? Perhaps we should be talking about censoship.....

  • Satan or Bush?

I vote for Satan;he/she's more honest!!!

  • the debate

I didn't expect it from Salon. But there it was. Unfair or rather more like one sided jouenalism from Salon. I am refering to the debate and the question about what you regret. Hillary said she would take her vote back and the salon article went on about whatever - not good stuff about Hillary. What they left out is that she did what many people have wanted her to do and that is say she regreted her vote. That you left out!

I don't care which words to say we shouldn't have goen to war; it has been clear she and others were mislead again by the jerk in the oval office. But this has been an issue the press and others have talked and talked about and THEN when she says it...Salon ignores it.

    One sided???
