I'll have to give these recipes a try. I usually just chop up leftover celery and store it in the freezer for use later in soups and stews.
I saw/heard you at the MPR program at the State Fair the Friday before your incident. I hope the super corn-dog you were munching before you spoke had nothing to do with this!
All kidding aside, do get well. We need your humor and your observations in these troubled times!
Namaste
couldn't they find someone who has a background either in music or the recording industry? This whole decision smacks of stunt-casting. Besides, Ellen is too nice for this.
We women now know we are no longer needed to be a "beard" or a "fag hag" now that so many gay men are are out and proud. Since most people want to liked for who they are rather than how they can be used, we should be grateful to know young gay men no longer need us. We can now move on to become friends with people who actually respect us and don't refer to us as "fish" or "twats" or "hags" whose sole purpose was for us to be used for "respectibility" (whatever the hell that is).
LW, if your "fag hag" was so offensive to you, why did you hang out with her? Did it ever occur to you she might want to be liked for herself as well? Do you even have any female friends? Somehow I doubt it.
Sorry, but I reserve my compassion for those who need it and not for self-absorbed rich daddy's girls and their whiny, useless lives. Come back to me when you have real problems, like wondering where your next meal is coming from (rather than which one you are puking up) or how you're going to pay the rent.
Frankly, I hope all of the anorxeia in these rich bints causes infertility so we can improve the gene pool.
Would you please stop using the term "pro-life" and call them what they really are, "anti-choice"?
I'm not surprised that hack John Stossel would be promoting her.
The fact that she's pregnant tells me that she's too young to remember the days when women had few rights in the workplace. If she thinks businesses are concerned about losing business because they discriminate against anyone then she needs to pick up a history book or two. The reason why we have regulations in the first place is because of the history of abuse by businesses against their employees. Expecting CEOs to put compassion over profit is naive and foolish.
The woman is going through chemotherapy for metasticized cancer, her husband puts her through the additional stress of an extramarital affair AND a huge scandal and it's somehow her fault? Compassion, much?
I don't blame her for writing this book. How many times have we seen political wives stand by their husbands through public humiliation and we hear not a peep? I'm glad she's getting her say. I'll bet the only reason why she's not leaving his sorry ass is because she can't take the added stress of a divorce.
It has occurred to me the reason Salon keeps controversial writers like this wingnut and Paglia is because of the hundreds of angry letters in response! Salon can then go to their advertisers and say, "See -- look how many eyeballs we get!" The only way to get rid of these writers is to either NOT RESPOND (yes, I understand the hypocracy of my statement) or CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION. Salon has been all about survival for a long time and money talks.
I get your point about WALL-E being banished to the Animation category. I think it's ironic that an animated feature like WALL-E, which has more soul than most of the supposed live-action films of late, is not considered on the same level because it looks like a cartoon.
What are the criteria for determining what makes a movie "animated" in the first place? Considering how the percentage of most movies (especially action ones like The Dark Knight) are becoming more and more computer-generated every year, why even have an Animation category at all? I think Hollywood's dark secret is they don't want us to realize "live-action" movies are getting less and less so all the time.
Anyone wanting to know more about what it's like to have Bipolar disease may want to watch Stephen Fry's "My Life as a Manic Depressive" which is on youtube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nXgZlvjkAo
In this he interviews people from all walks of life who are coping (or not) with Bipolar disease. Included in the interviews are ones with Carrie Fisher and Richard Dreyfuss.
I'm sorry, but this letter sounds like it was written by some teenage guy. "She" is 31 yet still uses offensive words like "retard" like a 12-year-old? I'm not buying it.
I've never heard any female talk like this, at least one that was old enough to vote.
You're married now, so your first loyalty and responsibility is towards him and the marriage. Let that discussion be your guide in making your decision.
I'm sorry your parents aren't seeing the connection between how they vote and the life of their son.
Good luck with this.
Can something be done about that highly offensive CHOKE ad? I can't believe a supposed progressive website such as Salon would actually use such an ad.
Well, maybe I'm not all that surprised.
