Original article: How Sarah Palin blew it

@williedigital

People may want to have beer with less wonky people -- though many of my less educated and "working class" relatives often come to Berkely graduate moi when they need to get some sort of difficult administrative or legal task done -- or they want advice on something really important.

Which is especially interesting when I remember that I was considered "snooty" when I was younger -- which I might have been -- you know you silly young people can be...

But, after 8 years of a C student president and a "shoot first, ask questions later" VP, I think the people in the US WANT wonky leaders. They also want calm, smart and superior leaders. They can play pool, go hunting, go bowling, hit the bars, eat pizza, scarf down a dozen donuts, watch tv sports -- with wonks AND with "Joe Sixpack." But just because I listen to NPR, read Russian authors and believe poor people are not the enemy -- doesn't mean I can't be a "regular gal.

But, not all "Buds" can call your insurance company and make sure they will pay for a new procedure that would have cost them $2,000 extra dollars. THAT is when they don't mind that I don't want to watch Survivor. They will suffer through Masterpiece Theater with me once in a while (and I will suffer through Survivor occasionally) because we love each other and because they love the fact that they have a place they can go to make their cheapskate insurance company pay that extra $2,000 -- or be a Trustee for their estate (which is only worth a small amount of money, but it is ALL they have -- for no cost.

So, Republicans, stop acting like working class people are idiots. They know where "Joe Six Pack" belongs and where their"Elitist Niece" belongs. At the neighborhood bar and on the phone with insurance executives.

Original article: The youth surge

my family elders are for Obama!

Dad 73, Mom 72 and numerous aunts and uncles (my folks were BOTH the oldest of 7 siblings) - ages 61 to 71 -- even my life-long Republican Uncle who lives in Arizona -- are all Obama supporters.

Ok, other younger Obama supporters -- get to work! Get your elders away from the Dark Side and into the Light!

(And, luckily, most of them live in NM and VA -- both important Swing States!)

Original article: Obama and McCain face off

I am SICK of McCain hypocrisy!

If a Democrat had said that we should do NOTHING -- even if we had "actionable intelligence" against a "high value" Al Qaeda or Taliban leader who was just over the border in the lawless area of Northern Pakistan, and the Pakistanis REFUSED to act on our information or to LET us act on our information -- you all would be HOWLING about what a cowardly softie he or she was.

But, have McCain make a wrong decision because he always feels the need to say the opposite of what Obama says and stubbornly refuses to admit his mistake -- and all McCainiacs are suddenly "born-again" peaceniks!

Which is total crap.

You KNOW that if there was actionable intelligence that we had Osama bin Laden in our sights and the Pakistans told us "no," that ANY real leader in the United States would go in and kill bin Laden. You KNOW that. You are just being partisan jerks.

And it is sickening. To say you wouldn't kill ObL just to score political points? That is pathetic! McCain and his supporters should stop mindlessly throwing this complaint at Obama -- who is the one showing true leadership.

Original article: Cranky vs. cool

There is STILL an Economic and Domestic Issue Debate Later, Right Before the Election

Calm down, everyone -- the last debate is on economic issues and other domestic issues -- right before the election.

McCain was worse at the subject that he was supposed to excel at.

Obama won on Foreign Policy tonight. And he will win on economic and domestic issues later.

McCain looked like a name-dropping, cranky old fart. Ick.

Original article: "As Putin rears his head"

@readerreader

Obama's election to the Illinois Senate: It wasn't "luck."

Obama fought a TOUGH primary race against 7 other Democratic rivals, including 2 favored Democratic insiders -- one of whom was favored by powerful unions and one of whom had great personal wealth (the DNC LOVES self-financing candidates!). Obama started out in 3rd and 4th place but ended up winning by running a great, pragmatic campaign.

The GOP ended up nominating Jack Ryan, a millionaire who became an inner city teacher who had been married to the voluptuous Jeri Ryan of Star Trek, who played Seven of Nine. Unfortunately, after rumors surfaced about Ryan's divorce that mentioned sexually humiliating his wife, the demand to open Ryan's divorce decree got too strong to deny. It was then learned that Jack Ryan had taken his wife to sex clubs and tried to force her to have sex in public with him. Ryan soon dropped out of the race.

No other Illinois Republican wanted to enter the race at this point because Obama was doing so well in the polls. THIS IS THE PART ALL TROLLS AND OBAMA HATERS LEAVE OUT. So, I will repeat it: No other ILLINOIS Republican wanted to enter the race at this point because Obama was doing so well. NO REPUBLICAN WANTED TO WASTE HIS OR HER TIME OR MONEY RUNNING A DOOMED CAMPAIGN.

So, the perennial freak candidate, Alan Keyes decided to be a sacrificial lamb and make a public fool of himself one more time. But it wasn't luck -- it was because Obama had already won because of GOP missteps and the fact that Illinois was becoming a solidly Blue State.

If you are going to allude to a story to back up your garbage about Senator Barack Obama, Ivy League educated, public service employee, constitutional law professor, civil rights attorney, editor of the Harvard Law Review and US Senator who co-sponsored major bi-partisan legislation with Dick Lugar, Tom Coburn and John Warner and tackled issues to help veterans and young children -- please get the facts right.
