I was trying to point out all the work and money that is being expended on the campaign by TENS OF THOUSANDS of Democrats on this campaign. Even those working for Hillary...
I am one of many. One grain of sand, as it were.
I believe in Barack Obama and will interrupt my life and work 12 hour days for as long as needed -- to see the kind of change to the country I believe in!
But, to have to do this to give excitement to journalists -- or because Hillary will not face reality -- seems a waste.
I would prefer to give my time and energy toward beating John McCain -- not toward beating another Democrat.
I hope this is more clear...but I was a bit tired last night...
I think it is incredibly SEXIST of the Hillary supporters to only to mention how I wanted to get a pedicure -- when I also said I wanted to take my elderly parents out to lunch.
You guys are too mean for words.
Lighten up!
Everyone needs to lighten up!
Jeez.
That's why this campaign needs to end...Democrats are being too mean to each other. We should be working against McCain supporters, not each other.
Now, I will get ready for another 12 hour day here in lovely Columbus! I wonder if it is still snowing? Luckily, I like snow!
Bye!
The Senante assigns each new Senator an Old Senator to "Show them the Ropes." It is an arbitrary thing; Obama did not CHOOSE his "Mentor."
And before you say the next falsehood: Obama supported Lieberman in the Primary -- which is protocol -- but supported Lamont in the General Election in November.
Obama's personal Mentor in the Senate was Dick Durbin, the Senior Senator in his home state of Illinois. And Durbin voted AGAINST the Iraq Resolution as did 23 Democratic Senators in all -- but not Hillary Clinton.
Do you get that, Hillary supporters? 23 Senators voted against the war! 23! But not Hillary.
I am SICK of these lies -- or mistakes -- or whatever.
Get your facts straight, please, Hillary supporters.
The only one whining is Hillary: "You keep asking me the first question! And you like Obama better than you like me!"
I was watching the debate after a long day of campaign work.
Since you didn't read my recent posting about my first statement being "metaphoric," I will just let you know that I will be working my ass off until Hillary finally deals with reality...and then I will keep working my ass off until President Obama is in the Oval Office.
KK?
As I worked the polls for Obams -- the Republicans go by -- eyes down.
The Hillary women, glare at me -- a 49 year old female Obama supporter -- as if I just asked them to vote for Phyllis Schlafly.
They were mean. One of Hillary's Latina supporters told me that it was "those people" who were helping him succeed. I said, "Do you mean African-Americans?" She nodded.
This is getting too icky for words...
A Hillary supporter -- or lurking troll -- writes an offensive posting and not ONE Hillary supporter disavows the lies and bigotry against Obama.
This is the kind of thing that disturbs me most.
If I were a Hillary supporter -- I would place ads in the New York Times and USA Today -- distancing myself and the campaign from all the scurrilous lies and distortions going around about Obama -- in "mysterious" viral emails.
I would begin every rally with a disavowal and make sure these rumors ended. Then I would run on the merits of my candidate.
But, none of you do it and your candidate does not do it.
Inaction is the same as support. You are as guilty as the people doing the lying and who have the bigotry.
Shame, shame.
1. Subcommittees are not a big deal. Obama became Chairman only a little more than a year ago when the Dems took charge. Your outrage is manufactured.
2. I guess you don't remember the "sweetheart mortgage" the Clintons got for their house after they left office. We Dems didn't really begrudge it to them; we loved our popular President who had $5 million in legal fees, thanks to the GOP witch hunt -- but it was pretty "iffy." Remember, Hillary bought a house in NY before Bill had enough income so she could "qualify" to run for the Senate? Some details:
Washington Post, Sept 4, 1999:
"...Later in the week, McAuliffe returned the favor and then some. When former White House chief of staff Erskine B. Bowles at the last minute balked at guaranteeing a $1.35 million mortgage for the Clintons' new house in Chappaqua, N.Y., McAuliffe rode to the president's rescue.
In a move that enables the Clintons to buy the house and Hillary Rodham Clinton to have a base for her New York Senate run the 42-year-old real estate developer and dealmaker pledged to put up $1.35 million in cash to secure a mortgage for the Clintons. Otherwise, swamped by more than $5 million in legal debts, the Clintons might have had difficulty obtaining the loan for the five-bedroom, century-old house..."
I was shocked when a middle-aged female Hillary Poll Worker told me that the reason Hillary wasn't winning was because of "those people." THOSE PEOPLE. I asked her, "Do you mean African-Americans?" She nodded. I looked her in the eyes and told her that I didn't believe a REAL Democrat would talk that way and walked away from her.
I was literally shaking.
Luckily, throughout the day -- I met scores and scores of YOUNG Hispanics and Latinos who supported Barack Obama. They smiled broadly as I explained the "Texas Two Step" caucus system to them and we discussed how exciting Obama's campaign was.
The black-brown divide seems -- thank goodness -- to be somewhate generational.
As I have told many girlfriends going through heartbreak, sometimes time heals many hurts.
