The NY Cap

The Giants are Brady's National League team. Remember he was caught running around New York wearing a Yankees cap last year.

Balls?

No, no Joan. It took balls for an Illinois legislator with an Middle Eastern sounding name to come out against the Iraq war in 2002. Now those are some balls.

The NBA is back

Actually the NBA has been mounting a comeback for the past few seasons, but heinous finals matchups took the luster off a great games that proceeded. Not only was the regular season worthy of a baseball pennant race, there all also four or five legit MVP candidates.

The Isiah story is way overrated. For true sleeze take a peep at whats goin on in Seattle.

Heres to an anybody but Detroit and San Antonio matchup in the Finals.

Entitlement?

Really Joan, who feels more of sense of entitlement than the white working class? Facts are facts: Working class blacks have consistently supported Ivy-educated candidates of all races, why can't working whites do the same for a black candidate? Are you saying that they would vote for a black candidate from a state school? Give me a break. You dragged out this same rotten defense in 2001, when these same salt of the earth folks booed and jeered Hilary Clinton during the 911 tribute at Madison Square Garden. Just as you very close to calling Senator Clinton a bitch back then, you come very close to calling Obama 'an uppity nigger' today.

I just don't know what to think

Dear Joan,

I didn't respond to the list because I have no problem with a little ethnic pride here and there and as a Black American I can totally dig where Jonah where was coming from. However, there is something which has been bothering me for quite some time. Other than wire service reports Salon did not publish a single word about the death of James Brown, arguably the most important and influentual musican of the past half century. His impact on popular music was was at least equal to Bergman's on cinema (and he got what, four days of Salon coverage?). So yes despite the fact that 'The List' itself did not bother me it did highlight the fact that no one at Salon has a clue about how to 'take it to the bridge'.

Keeping It Real Clueless

Crack dealers are the absolute scum of the earth and have contributed far more to the destruction of the Black community than any KKK member could have ever hoped. I speak from experience as a recovering addict. Dealers kill with their product, with guns, with recruitment of pre-teen black boys. To glamorize and give legitimacy to such people to dangerously clueless.
