I was 11 or under...

when I watched the movies I recommended, including a French one (Au Revoir Les Enfants). So what's up with accusing parents of forcing foreign/boring movies on kids? If I didn't like it, I would've left the room, but I was enthralled and have never forgotten it.

...should have made the list! And absolutely watch Time Bandits without reservations - it's 100% awesome. Just ignore the comments to the contrary in this article.

If you've ever played soccer...

If you've ever played soccer, you might realize that (a) not every injury is obvious to the spectators because it happens so fast, and (b) that soccer players continue play after being taken down not because they are not hurt, but because they are athletes and they want to win. Try playing the game and then consider re-writing your column.
