I hope this is just a cynical leak about containing the deficit to keep the mouth-breathing conservative-leaning independents happy. Otherwise, I say this man has no sense of either history or economics. Yes, we eventually want to get the deficit under control. But now is not the time to do it.
Further support of my thesis is the talk to ignore defense and nothing on the table for Medicare or Medicaid. Without those on the table, this is just pillow talk...baby.
Really, a wow? My post warranted a wow? Oh yeah, I forgot. In your douchey mind, you caught me and some other random poster astroturfing for MS red-handed, right? Talk about your conspiracy theories! Sounds like somebody's got a chip on their Apple/Linux/Google shoulder. :-)
Now, I could be wrong, and it could be some other sinister, methodical and diabolical MS plan that you can add to your bullet points. Reason would suggest otherwise.
Most likely...somebody just fucked up. It's hard to believe it happens in huge bureaucratic places like MS, but really, it's amazing it doesn't happen more. I'm never amazed how many ITIL-certified managers don't know dick about technology. If a key knowledge worker left, they might not even know they have a problem for weeks or even months if there is no cross-training or proper documentation.
Now, I'm not saying that MS is the poster child for good corporate behavior, I just don't think they are really all that different from others. Given the opportunity, I'm sure a host of other companies would do no better. I'm sure some would, and will, do worse.
If your issue is a moral one, I would argue the fortune that Bill Gates has amassed is being put to some good use. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation do and fund good work. Let's see what Steve, Larry and Sergey do with their fortunes in the future.
Forgive me while I role my eyes Andrew.
You sure are quick to jump on a conspiracy theory bandwagon when it's Microsoft. Not so much when it's accusations of price manipulation by commodities traders. Why the double standard?
Please enlighten us why a hunch regarding the MS sidekick debacle becomes conspiracy, and evidence of speculation in the oil futures market(post CFMA, anyway) are treated with different standards.
I hold no particular expertise in commodities or economics, but I do in IT. You hold no particular expertise in IT, but more than most in matter of economics.
I find it irrational to think that MS is this duplicitous. And, you think the same of futures traders.
I think in either case (even though I have evidence and reason for my worries), people are more likely to believe conspiracies about things they don't fully understand. So, what reason(s), would lead you to believe, much less level, such a charge at MS? I'm just curious.
And for all the MS haters who are going to now going to mack on the mac and google, save it. Was Apple trying to destroy the desktop OS market by having Snow Leopard delete user's data? I'm sure that switch campaign is going great for those newly ex-windows users who lost all of their data. Will Google be able to make a buck on anything other than add revenue? Android? Chrome!? Puuhhhleeaase. And don't even get me started on Linux! :-)
You and your ilk are the worst of the worst. We have a process for expressing your contempt....it's called voting. Don't like something, build consensus, awareness and press to get leaders elected who represent your views. That is what decent people do. That is if they believe in our Republic. What, you don't believe in America?
We actually just had one of these elections and the Republicans we beaten resoundingly. What you didn't like the outcome? Tough shit! (You think I liked the policies of the Bush Admin and Republic Congress!? I was mad as hell, but don't equivocate for ELF/ALF. Know what I did? I supported causes and candidates who believed in what I do.)
Irregardless if you liked the outcome of the election, Americans knew good and well what they were voting for. It looks like your views are not what the majority wants. Sorry. Try harder next time.
What's disgusting is that give your voice to making excuses for murder, treason and secession. These are not the valid functions or means to protest or elicit change. These are all illegal, in case you didn't know. If you are revolutionary, then just go ahead and say so so we can have the government ID you and start monitoring your activities.
Would you like to explain to this guy's children how their dad's murder was somehow justfified because someone people are upset at Pelosi!?
I'd spit in your face if I could. You are the lowest of the low.
What a coward and jerk!
Because RCP is Talmudic? Don't they have left-leaning articles, too? And your point is?
The list of people you quote are some of the worst dissemblers and obfuscators of truth alive today. If this is the group from whom you are forming opinions, you have already lost.
Either you are woefully or willfully ignorant or you believe in their tactics. Neither scenario is a boon for your intellectual integrity.
Voluble!? Really!? Aren't you cute!
Is this dribble what I'm paying for at Salon? Same beltway bullshit one would read on WaPo or Politico.
Dana Milbank could have written this post!
