I am disgusted, disillusioned, disappointed, hurt and enraged at Obama's choice.
Warren is a bigot.
I am a lesbian who is sick to death of putting up with
crap about how we must be tolerant of bigotry.
We in the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender/queer/questioning liberation movement have reached the end of our patience. We welcome straight allies who will join with us to say - ENOUGH!
We've been deprived of rights, denigrated, harassed, ostracized, ridiculed and just plain oppressed for too long.
Too bad the man we were all so enthusiastic about building a new world has dealt such a low blow to those of us already hurt by losses of our rights in the United States.
We WILL keep on fighting.
If I were in D.C., I'd throw shoes at Warren.

The difference between Sen. Clinton and Caroline Kennedy is that Clinton was elected and Kennedy is asking to be appointed.
A woman with a similar resume and background to Ms Kennedy's would not even be considered were her name Jones. Period.
This is about privilege. She's the daughter of a President, and the sister of two senators. She's rich.
I'm not impressed with Ms. Kennedy. I remember the comment about George Bush -- he was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.
Someone with her advantages should have learned how to conduct an interview coherently. All it takes is practice and focus. You know...um...like it's like you know uh...discipline.
I questioned what she was doing on Obama's Vice-Presidential selection panel and assumed it was payback for delivering Senator Edward Kennedy's endorsement of the President-Elect.
If the New York voters want her, that's her choice, but she should not be appointed.
I see almost no deference to the concept that in America someone is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
Blago has not had an opportunity to defend himself.
Do I think he's guilty? Probably.
Did I think O.J. Simpson was guilty of murdering his wife? Yes.
Does that mean either of these two men should be punished for a crime, just because I (or anyone else) believes them to be guilty? No.
If the Illinois Legislature thinks it has enough evidence to impeach their governor, they should do it.
(In my opinion this whole problem could have been avoided had the legislature done the right thing and had a special election.)
Is corruption wrong? Yes.
Am I tired of the Republican AND Democratic contempt for our laws (and endless profanity and inability to restrain adolescent sexual acting out)? Yes, indeed.
Do I think Reid and Obama have political reasons for changing their mind? Yes
Do I think there are more qualified people than Burris? Yes.
But that doesn't really matter. The question is -- because the Governor has been arrested, does that rob him of his power to make the appointment? I don't think so.

I agree that Ms. Kennedy will get some sympathy from the media for being an intellectual, and the scion of a glamourous political dynasty, and that she is unfairly reaping a ton of privilege. *I* suggest that she is getting FAR MORE FAVORABLE treatment from the media than did SENATOR CLINTON because Ms. Kennedy is far more palatable to the progressive left. She's sweet, soft, and unthreatening. She's the kind of woman the left wing loves because she doesn't threaten male power. No one really expects Ms. Kennedy to be a powerhouse in the Senator, do they? She'll be grateful and compliant (IN THE MALE LEFT'S EYES),and no "nutcracker." You know?
But Governor Palin did not hit a triple either -- she leap frogged to third base (while Ms. Kennedy was born on third base). Gov. Palin got a huge boost from obscurity into the limelight because Sen. McCain was forced (by the Rove wing) to accept a right wing fundamentalist as a running mate. She became a Vice-Presidential candidate despite her lack of qualifications.
She is unbelievably arrogant. At no time does she take responsibility for being unqualified.
She attacks the Couric interview without having seen it. (Kind of like the anti Harry Potter right wing nutcakes who attack the books without having read them). AND, it must be McCain's fault..it couldn't be her own ineptitude, could it?. After the first interview went so badly, why did they force her (poor little Palin forced into doing things she didn't want to)to do more interviews? (And remember, the first time around she criticized "them" for not allowing her MORE exposure to the media.)
She NOW says she reads USA Today and the New York Times but couldn't think of that during her Couric interview [she was being flippant???? didn't look like that to me, but of course I (unlike Gov. Palin) DID watch the interview.]
She never takes responsibility for ANY mistakes (remind you of George Bush?)It's all some terrible plot against her.
Also reminds me of Nixon -- you won't have Nixon to kick around anymore.....his obsession was that the media was the reason he couldn't get elected.
My analysis is that she wanted to be in the media limelight again. She'll do anything to get out of Wasilla and back into Sak's Fifth Avenue.
